Thanks, it does get alot of comments this scooter and looks from people when riding around. Its taken a year and a half to get it looking how it is now jonwaylover, the paint job has been on it the longest (just over a year) and did the rest of the bits and pieces over time

You may have to play around abit to get the scoot to run how it suits you. This is my piaggio zip 50cc 2-stroke scooter and have got it running very good for straights and hills.
Im pretty sure when standard it had 7.5g roller weights in it and the scooter was alittle sluggish off the mark and would struggle on hills (especially with my weight on it). I de-restricted it and changed the weights down to 6.5g, after that it had abit more oomph on take off and accelerated better going uphill. But knowing me I wanted more out of it and I put on a Leo Vince power pipe and went 2 sizes up on the main jet still using stock airbox. Had alittle more power but still lacked.. so I ended up removing the 6.5g weights and only put 3 stock weights back in the variator. Far out.. the thing screams off the mark doing good wheelies and it gets up hills very well lol. On a straight, it gets up to 60km/h much quicker and reaches 80km/h.
So have a play around with the roller weights and see how that goes, my idea using 3 weights is at your own risk if you were to try that. The spring is a good idea to that rich mentioned. Have a play and see how you go, its all trial and error

Im putting in new vacuum lines soon and noticed my spare intake manifold has dual vacuum, my standard one has only one.
Is this suppose eliminate this splitter in the vacuum hoses at all?? If so, is it better to use the dual vacuum manifold?
Cheers.

What size engine does your scooter have? Dropping down in roller weights does allow your scoot to reach higher rpm's, which increases acceleration and good for inclines but does affect top speed. My scoot had 14g rollers in it when i bought it, changed to 12g and now im using 11g slider weights. I hardly ride on highways and i like riding my scooter up the mountain roads on weekends so that setup works well for my liking

Had the same problem with my speedo, but being the stock dash. Compared it to gps speed and the analog speedo was out by 7km/h. Bought a new one off ebay for only $55 (AUS) free postage and have had it in for 2yrs. Has been working great and is accurate, at the time of purchase though I had to email the seller and tell them the size of my rims so they can calibrate it. Only problem with it now is if I leave the scooter sitting in the sun the digital part fades away. Tacho was easy to get working, extended the wire to reach the coil and wrapped the wire around it, works like a charm.

Been abit slack lately but this is my led setup at the moment, more to go when I get time...
And this is what im using to power them. Easy to install, turn the led's on by remote and adjust the brightness as well.

Also to, lighter roller weight setup would help to. My original ones were 14g, after few changes ive changed to 11g slider weights using stock variator. I mainly ride in 60km/h zones and some inclines so ive set my scooter up how i like it. Carb is stock and have changed jets to 38 pilot and 125 main, thats also because of the 160cc rebuild, may need to up size the main but its running really well as it is

Ive got one on mine
Its loud that's all I can say but with the right carb setup, works well. For the noise... as much as I liked the sound from it, was abit too much so I found a good thing to silence it..
Found a BMX bike stunt peg laying around, cut it in half and tapped it in with a hammer. Works like a charm and still flows very well.
It may sound puttery at idle but at higher revs it has a nice sound especially if you have an intake setup, both mix well together for sound and have found my scooter has increased pickup during mid range to top end with the yoshimura

Thanks mate. Hahaha bloody dust!
Unfortunately no funds for advertising lol
Its nice paint that blue and its the same brand paint I used on my rims, manifold intake and the auto choke cover and gearbox, also the gold on my rear suspension. Trimmed the intake hose down alittle more today and touched it up again. Ive been asked how to stop the paint from cracking from the hose flexing, I find having a hose that comes with a spring inside works best for my liking.
Intake hose with spring inside to stop flexing
