Okay I think I lost my washer that sits in front if front of the crank shaft end and behind the fan clutch. Not the one for the nut but for in front of the thing that the belt sits on.. Does this mean I am screwed? I keep getting a clicking noise from the weights no matter what I do, could it be not enough torque on my impact wrench? Or the glide keys?

Try finding another washer, Are you SURE you are missing one? Could be one out of the track, or some trash clinking around in there...

Yes there is always a washer in front of the roller thing that the variator sits on in the hole right?

I'm not sure what you're referring to, these are the variator parts I'm familiar with. These are my own terms so they may not match the manuals. From what you described I would guess one or more of the glides is in wrong or not there at all. No, don't keep torqueing down tighter, that's not the problem

Well look here...a spacer! Live and learn. Mine has a gear behind the ramp plate that also acts as the spacer.

I have a gear behind the ramp plate. So the black guide keys are worn out and the weights are worn out. And the ramp plate looks like its been metal to metal behind it on the gear. Do you think I need that spacer?

This is how my case looks but the gear looks like it has been heated up.

If you have the gear then IMO you would not use the spacer. My point was that in some circumstances you would use a spacer, but not if you have the gear. Anybody else have thoughts on this? If you take the variator apart I'm pretty sure something will be obvious with those kinds of symptoms. If not a glide the rollers might be misaligned. And you're using the washer under the retaining nut right?

Yes I put the flat side towards the fan and the other side toward the nut.

No clicking sound when variator is off the crank shaft.

before and after pics, the weights in the variator are after 1 minute of spinning it and the ones outside are like 30 miles later. 1drv.ms/1naunh7

Looks like I might just need that machine bushing on the back of the ramp plate because my old ramp plate does not have a heat mark on the back of it like this new one.
