i've seen it it's rare nowadays,,,,brass ones used to do it now with the ridged foam ones and the blowmolded plastic ones not so much,,,disconnect fuel tank from carb,,,make sure bowl is full it'll run till bowl is empty,,,take bowl off and check floats and needle as long as your in there,,,as far as the starter not working my money is on either the starter is loose and lost ground or wire pinched or loose,,either the solenoid trigger wire or the main to the starter itself is loose or cut,,,thats my call

Well on a 4T the first thing I would think if gas was pouring out of ANYWHERE would be the float was stuck. But I'm so lame on 2T I didn't feel qualified to comment. My weedeater doesn't have a float, you can run it upside down, or my chainsaw. Did you know the big diesel electric locomotives are gigantic V12 two cycles?....TWO CYCLES! But since they fire every stroke they produce more horsepower....3,000+ and they use FOUR of them!. That's why 2Ts make for a fast scooter, like the Vespa....see how I brought that back? No hijacking. OK, I'll be quiet, but here's a pic....they are so cool....Rich

yes current thought is reed valves are better,,,material strengths and quality and also heat treatments are more superior than the old days when they cracked and split ,,broke off chips that went into the motor,,i had a few 3 cylinder suzuki 500's some with open straight expansion chambers,,,,CRACKLIN!!!!!!!!!!!!,,my neighbors hated me ,,,they handled like sh!t and had no brakes,,,man they were fun

Cyborg's hunch could defiantly be right. I remembered the recent headache my float needle assy caused me on my Vespa engine carb. I would get fuel flooding out the carb a bit leaving a nice puddle of fuel oil mix if I didn't turn off the fuel tap. Marking its spot. The ethanol eats at the rubber tip on the fuel needle allowing fuel to flood in. I replaced the needle and float assy and for the most part I haven't had the leak issue. A bad float will also flood an engine out as well because its got fuel inside and isn't floating and not sealing off . will

That's where my bet money rides Will,,, either float bad and sinking ,, whole float cage bent or even broken from accident or float needle real bad and just not doing it's job

And one more thing about the starter ,,, the main may have gotten pinched or chaffed to the point of contact with sharp edge of body and when button pushed it blew a fuse,,, just a thought

Maybe its time for him to do a full carb rebuild or just replace the d@#$ thing all together with a new one. Speaking of carbs how is your replacement working on your scoot ? willc

OK guys, since it seems as though SOME of you are confused on what this scooter is doing.
DESCRIPTION OF WHAT IS HAPPENING: AT FIRST, the scooter would not crank. BAD BATTERY(CHECKED), GOT NEW ONE, THE SCOOTER WILL CRANK.
AT "WIDE OPEN THROTTLE", the scooter will start after about 2 mins of trying, it BARELY starts(HOLDING THE THROTTLE OPEN STILL), and TAKES off(HIGH RPM),
THEN, if you PUMP THE THROTTLE, it unleashes about a CUP, of fuel, OUT OF THE EXHAUST(IT BLASTS it out). SO there is NO MORE ISSUE with the STARTER.

ok so it was the battery,,,the money still rides on the floats sinking or the needle diplaced by the accident and then the thing is flooding uncontrollably
