Where can I get a replacement windshield that doesn't crack and spider when you go down the road? The one I have now is thin. It would be fine if it was bulletproof lexan, but its not. So where do I get a good quality one? This is mine: I might just paint the whole inside of it a nice thick coat of reenforcing flat black rubber and the outside a matching blue to the rest of the bike. It's not like I look thru it anyway...

I'm probably going to paint it but, if I paint it, what should I seal this one with? Some kind of really strong coating that's paintable...

krylon plastic paint. Designed for plastic. Comes in all kinds of colors and surfaces/ I painted a 50's handle bar covers/speedo cover with a gray metalic wrinkle finish that looked better than factory.

I like the chip-resistant part... Looks like a good choice for repainting the whole bike also. Krylon Plastic PaintThen top it off with a nice clear coat. Clear CoatsMaybe the triple thick and top it off with the UV resist?

Did you know painting your windshield is illegal in many states? Considering what you told me about the cops around there Andy you better check with DOT before you do anything. Rich

Answered you back in mail.
Yeah, I'll check the local regs, who knows what kind of freak laws they have.

if you want a tall windshield, just ride a car...i dunno why some people would ride a scooter and don't want to feel the wind in their faces and head? doesnt make sense...look at my morphous, it has 3 inch windshield so i enjoy the wind slapping my face...thats the essence of riding a scooter.

Because if you go further than Starbucks the wind wears you down. It's probably why your 200 mile ride was so torturous.

Where's a good place to buy a windshield for the TaoTao ATM50-A? I'm considering getting one for winter riding.

June 2013 I bought a Slipstreamer windshield from www.partsforscooters.com. I had a cheap $35. dollar one that was .075 thick and snapped in half after a couple of weeks. The Slipstreamer is .150 thick and cost around $100. It has been great so far, even driving in 40 mph winds.

If you look at my video on the 'How Many Wrenches' thread, you will see how bad the cheap windshields are. They get one little hit from a bit of trash and spider like crazy. Most of the 'impact' marks on mine are supposedly stress cracks. Never heard of that till I came to Hawaii though...
