How many of you wear a helmet? Which one? I currently have the FX-43 which I got because I had to have a helmet right then and it's what was in stock. This is the one I'm getting next. Notice the built-in shades inside the outer shield.

My current helmet is an HJC also, but a full face. I figure if I do a face plant I want the bar to protect me. I've been wearing full face helmets since the mid 1970s and don't even notice the chin bar any more. My first full face was a Bell Star II. www.bellracing.com/news/bell-racing-usa-introduces-star-classicBell is now reintroducing the classic Bell Star shape and design with a recreation of the Star II flip up visor first introduced in 1975.[/b]

I use a black G-MAX44S on colder days and a silver G-MAX54S on warmer days.

I was wearing a shoei last year when I hit the ground. I replaced it with a 3/4 fulmer with a shade built in similar to the IS-33 above. Wearing glasses is a bitch with a full helmet as you have to take them off to put on helmet and its hot around here too. The shoei was probably 9 or 10 years old then and due for replacing, still looked good though. Have had bells and nolans and always like them too. There were a lot fewer buckets to choose from years ago And I always wore them starting in the late 60s, and most were made in the good ol USA then too.

I always wear a full face. Hot, glasses, hair, in stock, expensive, cheap: what is your head worth
I'm not worried about me hitting something. I'm concerned about who/what will hit me. (Like a 1999 GMC Jimmy driven by John Delong while on his way to the Longhorn Steakhouse happy hour, at 5:30 on a Friday afternoon, May 4, 2012)
(Yes, I was wearing my helmet)

All my motorcycle/snowmobile helmets where stolen a year ago so I only have the multi-sport for the bicycle. I prefer the modular style for ease of getting into and ability to have a drink of water while it's on. But, I think I'll try a moto-cross style when I get a scooter. I learned the wisdom of face protection when I crashed my racing snowmobile and had the chine bar almost ground through. My face is too pretty to do that to it.

Actually I have four hats. I have an HJC Sy-max II that I used to put 55K on a Vulcan 1500 Classic. I have a Gmax snowmobile helmet that I use for winter riding (record was 17 degrees). I have an old Bell helmet from the 70's that is just too comfortable to pitch even though it smells like an old sock. I have a grey helmet that all of the badges have fallen off and it smells worse than an old sock. I can't even remember it's origins but I'm using it right now because it's cool in the summer. The Gmax is a fantastic hat and I'm getting the electric shield for this winter...no more fog! I never....ever....never.....get on a two wheeled conveyance without my hat....never. Rich

My helmet is a little old, but it is still functional. Have been thinking about getting an air bag helmet so that I can enjoy both the breeze as I ride but still be protected. At their current cost they are inline with other helmets. bloodycars.com/airbag-helmet-developed-for-cyclists/

I'll take the old fashioned way with a real helmet.

I think I'll stick with my regular helmet as well. At least until there is some good data behind these air bag thingies.

I don't see any face protection with that air bag thing. I will pass.

Just had this one pop up on one of my pages. Nice, and the price is right. Matches my safety vest I have to wear also.
