And I hadda go and change the oil yesterday. I shoulda know better than to go making changes on a working bike. drive.google.com/file/d/0Byy0KRaiu0mfcWhUUjNYajFfX00/edit?usp=sharingI went ahead and checked the valves, and yep, I hadn't tightened them enough last time and they shifted. They good and tight, too, now. This video is after that. If it rests, I'll get a little bit of bad running and if I give it gas, it cuts out.

Did you adjust both valves to .003 inchs? It is idling to low for one. I think you did not adjust the valves properly. Alleyoop

I agree with Alley, what happened between running OK and not running OK? This is the Alleyoop paradigm. If you changed the oil AND set the valves prior to it running like that....it's the valves.

No, it was running like that already, I just set the valves as a likely culprit. Another thread here recommended .004 in and .005 out. I started using that a few months ago and it ran better for a bit.

If your scoot is a 50cc set them both to .003 inch's if its a 150cc then set them both to .004 inch's.

Yes, after it cools it will start for a bit, like you saw on the vid. After it heats it won't even do that.

I heard the valves ticking in your other video . you may need to snug up on the jam nuts better . recheck the valves , if you need to re adjust them tighten the jam nuts and recheck . and again are you using a performance cdi ?

I would look to see if the exhaust is leaking at the flange on the head .

No, using the OEM CDI.
I forgot, but there is no gasket, it rotted out but it was like that for a while. Is this a 'slap myself in the forehead' moment?

It could damage the exhaust valve . I would install the gasket readjust the valves and see what you get . Maybe even lap the valves .

got some universal gasket today. I'll pull the head back off tomorrow and cut the gasket to fit, then put it back on. Wish me luck!

If it starts when cold but dies out when hot and will not start hot it is loosing compression due to the valves not sealing. Alleyoop
