HAHAHA, so your problem is NOT starting is that right? if so then the current test of your stator is ok. Once the motor starts and the flywheel spins around the stator it makes more JUICE and it should then read 50+VAC. So if you are testing why it does not start. First thing is to check if you are getting SPARK at the Spark Plug by holding it ON THE VALVE COVER(NOT THE FRAME). If spark then it is fuel delivery problem or there is a problem with the actual motor internally. So IS THE PROBLEM NOT STARTING NOW? I have Lost my way on this thread(HAHA). IF SO lets back up and test for SPARK and FUEL. SO TELL ME IS THE CURRENT PROBLEM NO SPARK? Alleyoop What could be wrong with it internally?

Do not use permatex or RTV on anything that is exposed to gasoline. Plus you will play hell getting it off of the metal and it may break off and go into the engine. I have not used the O ring in the past and made a gasket out of a sheet of permatex gasket making material. Put the manifold on the sheet and use an xacto to cut out the gasket. I use the grey sheet but the brown works too. Gasoline is highly corrosive and not too many things will hold up to it. Read the permatex labels, they all say do not use in the presence of gasoline. The copper can be used on exhaust environments only because it can stand heat. It is not meant for gasoline exposure. Alley is correct, if you had a sure enough vacuum leak because of your manifold you simply were not drawing the gas through. You must pay attention to the details, one lapse in the induction sequence and the engine is dead.

I'm sorry, my bad, it's not Permatex. It's called Fel-pro and also Mr. Gasket makes them. Here's a link to the Autozone page for these materials. I don't know if that one you provided a link for will fit. You can also buy gaskets from any scooter parts dealer, check the top of the site.

Yep then just trace around the manifold and cut it out. if you got the roll stuff that is also good for the exhaust Flange if it leaks. Alleyoop

after deciding to adjust the valves I found that the manifold was not connected to the carburetor properly. tightened that up and adjusted the valves to .004, Put the valve cover back on and Found this... its the valve cover hose. Will electrical tape due? duct? Cant find any info on it. Can i cut the hose? does it need to be a certain length?

You mean the crank case breather? You can cut it off and put a filter in it to keep dirt out. Tie it off high to keep oil from coming out. If it connected into the air cleaner make sure that is plugged. If nothing else just tape it off with duct tape.
