Helloo. Im kinda new to all this modding tuning and stuff and i was wondering how i can get more power out of my engine. Read one article that said high flow exhaust and aor filter, read another that said that does nothing really and that machining the pistons and engine parts and such would be a better route. Help?

The easiest method is an air filter. It gets kinda tricky because you have to rejet. Here's a link to BPNW for an example. Check with TVnACman, he might have some suggestions. The machining thing is blueprinting and it would definitely help but it's expensive. What is your bike and do you want more top end or what?

Yeah higher top speed that sorta thing. Its a jonway yy12tt-3 150cc

First thing we have to know is What is your current top end speed and at what RPMS the motor is running.
Second thing we need to know is What top end do you really want to be able to get up to and if you cruise around what speeds are they in your area.

Forgot to mention how much do you want to spend to get some more top end.

Answers to some of those will help with what you would need to do to achieve your wants IF not out of the realm.

Not sure what you goals are, but if you got a 150, and max out at 50mph, you ain't gonna be happy unless you get sumtin bigger. Mods will give you a little more mph, hopefully enuf to satisfy your need for speed.

Alley went big bore with a stroker crank and an altered final drive,,, bet it's a whole lot faster than stock and it's a trike too ,,, and I'll still bet it's faster than original even with the added weight of the rear axel setup

Again its all what you want to spend. Unless you are capable of rebuilding your engine yourself you are looking at a ton of money for parts and labor to get a few more mph. I was able to get mine in the 60 to 65 mph range while I weighed 250. Yes your weight is part of the equation. I did air filters, jets and put a briggs muffler on it with a couple extra holes drilled. Big bore generally cuts longevity some but not always. If you are looking for 75 mph you have the wrong scooter period.

Yes, it is a LOT faster, stock it would only do 50mph at over 8000 rpms and that was it. Motor was screaming and I did not like that. I am an old hot rodder and I know what high rpms will do to a motor in short order.

So I went whole hog, but I have a dependable motor that will out run any 150 and some 250s. I have had it up to 70mph yes 70mph but for me on that small of a trike is just asking for trouble. I normally run at 50-60, 50mph the rpms are around 5200 rpms at 60 they are around 6200 rarely do I ever get the rpms up to 7K don't need to I have plenty of speed and get this the throttle is about 1/2 open so I have plenty left over.
Here are the mods on my Trike, the trike weighs in at 350 lbs and I am 180lbs:

The speeds around my area are from 35 to like 75 tbh. I like in an area that requires me to go over a stretch of freeway to get into town but other than that its mostly 30~45. I dont know where id want to end up top speed wise because idk how high i can get it. Its not like i wanna do 150mph or something, for as much as thatd be freakin awesome, i dont wanna hurt myself. How do i get the top speed and rpm? Do i just rev it real hard on the stand and take a look at the meter?

I think it tops at like 50~55

75 mph on a 250cc is thin .
Over sized variator and weight optimization , belt size . A broken in engine (over a thousand miles) a good air fuel mix with better carb .

Well forget about running in the 70s with a 150, if you want or need to run in the 70+ range you need at least a 250cc scoot. With a 150cc 50-60mph is more realistic so if you hang around 35-45 mph speed limit roads you will be good with a 150 with some mods.
Does your scoot have a tach on it? If so ride it at WOT and get to your top end speed and see what the TACH registers. On the center stand is not good because there is no load on the motor so it will rev pretty high but under load it most likely will not rev that high.

I don't care what anybody says, 65 on a Chinese 150 is dangerous. If you want faster on a Chinese go to a 250 and 65 is safe, 70 is pushing it. I'm talking real numbers with a GPS not the Chinometer on your bike. You want safe 70 to 80, go Taiwanese or Japanese scooters IMO.

Don't trust the Chinese tach if you have one, they are off as much as the speedos. Get a Tiny Tach, they are accurate and indestructible. AND you can swap them from bike to bike.
