Is there Much chance at all my stock CDI is REV LIMITED ? If so, is there Much chance the Blue Performace CDI like on ebay could help?  |

That CDI wasopened up by a member here and it was filled with sand , If you want a true performance CDI this is the one . John |

the sand was to weigh it down . to make you feel like you got something . Do you have an rpm gauge/tach

Sand does not make it spark BUT is sure holds a lot of heat and not disapate it. Those are CRAPOLA CDI's many have bought them and had nothing but problems and took them off waste of your money. John is a friend of mine but I wouldn't hawk a product of his because of that. However, I bought one of the CDIs that he provided a link to and it made a difference. I'm not a big believer in electricals making a huge difference but there was a significant increase in performance on the bike I installed it on.
I just noticed that's a good price too. That's cheaper than I paid and .....HEY!

I also have one of tvnacman's advancing angle CDIs on my 50cc with a 50mm bbk, and I have been very happy with it, solved some kickback issues I had and gives great performance. Plan on putting one on my new 150cc as well once it get a few more break-in miles on her. |

Way too low, what comes to mind is CVT problems. I'd pull the variator and make sure the rollers are OK. Also fuel, is the filter OK?

I have not seen any stock cdi's with rev limiters , more so air/fuel mix carb problems and or cvt defects .
A binding cvt will hold your rpm down , a carb that is not jetted correct or at least close will give performance problems .

John I thought some of the older (pre-2008) scooters had a restricted CDI that could be de-restricted by cutting the pink wire? |

Yes your correct Jerry and only the 50ccs not the 150+ motors. And the reason is simply they needed to keep the MPH down to 30 or less so that the buyers which they expected to be young would not need a license and or registration.
