Hey scooter ppl..Alley,Bashan,etc..I have a Tao Tao 150,I have installed a 26mm carb(rejetted w/110 main),added cold air intake(took stock airbox off),removed enrichener,n have a heck of a time tryin to find right A/F mixture. I have started 2 1/2 out n adjusted per 4t carb tuning posted here. It only runs great when A/F screw is bout 3/4 turn ccw from closed. I understand that these need to run a lil rich but when I try this it runs crappy..my question is since I have increased air inflow, would I still need to adjust A/F screw as directed?.. I should add that I have a "unrestricted" cdi n coil installed too.my top end is great(50+)..n she accelerates well..except from stop..lil hesitation then she runs right out. Any suggestions? All replays will b appreciated.. Also can y'all reccommend a good quality cdi/coil setup? Provide link if possible...I got mine off interweb from scorpion products.thanx n keep the rubber down

Did you plug up the place where enricher came out of?

How exactly did you take the ENRICHER off? If you just unpluged it is feeding extra fuel ALL THE TIME and is probably why the fuel ratio screw needs to be leaned out quite a bit and is why it has problems at the low end. Should run pretty good with a 110 main as you already found out.
So your problem is just at the low end and it could all be due to the ENRICHER still feeding fuel and not shutting it off. If not then the PILOT JET in that 28mm carb is to big if so get the next smaller pilot jet. Alleyoop

If you wanna remove the auto enricher, you could go with this. It aint really expensive and it allows you to go rich "on demand" on long ride or on colder days.

I removed enrichner per post here..used gasket material to block holes..even blocked large opening where enrichner needle went..may have found problem.. Lot of slack at throttle to carb cable..tightened it up seems to make diff..still got A/F screw at 1/4 turn from closed..runnin fine performance wise.. Just concerned that its too lean n I'm gonna burn engine up..how bout a recommendation fer a good cdi/ coil? Or are they basically all the same? Thanx n keep the rubber down

if you have the a/f screw set almost all the way closed it's getting alot of fuel from somewhere i'd be suspect of the enrichner area,,,you may not have plugged it up as well as you thought

Now a Two Smoker would be a different animal.

Got any recommendations fer cdi n coil setup? What about those auto adjust cdi units? Any good? If so can u post a link to one n the coil to match please? Thank you ...keep the rubber down!!

Alley does have the sweet setup on the manual choke,,doesn't look like a beaver has been gnawing on it,,,looks like factory,,,i'm a big fan of manual choke and fuel taps,,,they seem to be problematic on some machines,,,had two auto fuel taps go out last year alone myself,,,maddening,,so i switched to manual,,,and i also switched to clear vac and fuel lines from a motocross shop,,,a quick glance lets me know what's going on ,,,i kind of like the start up ritual,,

I was going to check my A/F setup, but my carb has a plug over the location where the A/F screw should be, any advice? I have a 2014 Bashan BLX (TPGS-809) 150cc.

You have two choices buy an aftermarket carb or drill out the plug. Alleyoop
