Hi. I just replaced a carburetor on my gy6. The stock one was impossible to open so I used a high performance carb that I had laying around, which I bought to go with an 80cc big bore kit for another scooter. Anyways, this scooter in question does not have a big bore kit, just a fancier carb. It runs good, but it is using fuel like crazy. I went 10 miles and it went from nearly full to nearly empty. Ive checked for leaks, and there are none. When I took the carb off to check my fuel lines, i found that all kinds of unburned fuel was in the big hose coming off the back of the carburetor. Is there anything I can do about this, other than buying yet another carburetor? Thanks for checking out my post.

You could try for a smaller main jet or unrestricting your airbox.

If its a performance carb it may have a bigger main jet and a bigger pilot jet and allowing to much fuel to be drawn out. Since you found excess fuel in the air tubing also check your filter it is probably soaked with fuel and causing it to run even richer. So check the jet sizes and filter. Alleyoop

Thanks guys. I'll just buy a new carb and use this until it gets here.

Also, I have heard that problems like what you've described can stem from an improper float level in the Carb. Not quite sure how to adjust it though. (I read a lot and fiddle with my 50cc, that's about it)

(I read a lot and fiddle with my 50cc, that's about it) I second this recommendation. It sounds like your carburetor is being overfilled with fuel and is overflowing into the air filter. Here is how to adjust your carburetor to (hopefully) stop leaking fuel into the air filter.

If you buy a new carb, you still may have to go inside to adjust jet sizes. Might just as well go in and see what the two jets are and post the sizes here. Also see that the float is adjusted right.
