did you notice a difference in off the line pull and or rpm? John I'm going back to the 1.5k spring. I need to know. The belt seemed loose and it was but only for low end. Changed spring much better. I'm at the 13 gram and 11 gram mixed sliders. How much do you weight? John

I was going to suggest the 835 being you don't have 10 cvt cover bolts. You say you have 9 was one missing (the tenth) or did you maybe count an extra bolt some how. John It fits well, the 835, but then it's loose, so I put the 1.5 k contra spring, better. Taking a break, I found a broken trunk mount support. I'm going to get that welded first. With the 1.5k it's not loose.

John Do one change and check results. You were right, the 835 is correct, thank you. I am having problems still The RPM's seem too low sound wise, not with TACH. That is still getting around 6000 at 40 mph. I am at 12 grams. I didn't like the 11 grams. I think I might need to go lighter still even with the 1.5k contra spring. I have a tuning kit of rollers coming. I will play with it soon. I am a big guy so I thought I need heavier weights. I weigh 230 and am 6'3". But,... It's not performing well long term. The drive in to work seems like a good check of reality. some hills, and some straight aways. Lots of lights. Round trip is like 18 miles. I need suggestions for weights. I would like to stop having to play with this and finish up. I may get a 2 k contra spring as I feel it could still be tighter.

I would keep the Koso, put back the stock contra spring 835 belt. Now keep in mind what is going on inside the cvt. The crankshaft is spinning, centrifugal force pushes the rollers away from the center of the variator. The heaver the weights make pushing the variator opened at lower rpm, lighter weights need more rpm to push the the rollers away from center. With that said increasing rpm gives you more off the line power/speed and the umf to pull the hills. A 120 ponder does not need that much rpm to get up and go. A big heavy guy/load you need the extra rpm of the crank to pull the load. The faster the crank spins you get power from momentum transferred to the wheel. So your a big boy lighter weights. check this outI hope this helps . John

Got a nice black mark on variator. Could only get to 45 mph. Belt was slipping at take off. Took 835 off, left 10 gram rollers. Much better low end. Still only getting to 45mph. I haven't received the koso yet. I have another thought. Since I really don't know what the shop did I'm guessing. Bare with me. What if they replaced the stock variator with a performance variator but it came with maybe a different, thicker boss. Then the stock 799 x 19 x 28 belt won't travel all the way up the front pulley (variator). I'm doing a lot to get OEM performance back. If they did stuff that I don't know about I'm guessing. I will hope the koso makes a difference. I was thinking on going even lighter on the weights to 9 grams and retesting. I will check out the link next. Edit: I think this because I don't Lance/Sym sent it out with NYC variator guides. The 3 guides for the ramp. NYC stamped on them.

Take off too much and the belt might jump! Wonder if you could measure the spread at the top and compare it to the belt width...for sure I would be grinding if that spread was wider than the belt.
