It seems like every time I ride to Wally World, someone asks about the scoot. Yesterday, I came out and was about to put my helmet on. A guy was walking to his car, turns and walks over to me. He says "Do you like it?". I told him I love it. He said he was thinking about getting one and where did I get mine. I talked scoots to him for about 10 minutes.

Last week, a guy in the car beside me asked how the smaller tires handled potholes and bumps.

A lot of the time, people ask about gas mileage.

So, who gets asked and what do people ask you?

All the time. Every once in a while I guy will come up but its mostly women in public places like Walmart or Wawa. They seem to find it cute and something they feel they could ride. My wife has only went out on one ride with me this year but while we were out we stopped to get something to drink due to the heat and parked in the far end of the stores parking lot under a tree. This beautiful lady and her boyfriend came up. The lady kept talking and asking about the scoot. My wife was glaring at me and her boyfriend was doing the same. So I finally said that we had to go and started putting on my helmet. Since then the wife keeps telling me to ride the Shadow and encourages me to buy another motorcycle. lol ;D Thats what happens when ya ride a sexy scoot.

Andrew - I note the "beautiful lady". Be careful. We hate to lose members especially to jealous wives and/or boyfriends! Note the last lady who asked about mine was about 75 y.o.

I get asked about mileage all the time. I once had a guy in a jacked up Bronco (32 inch tires) stop and aske me about my mileage while I was filling up. I told him it was 65-80 depending on how hard I ride. He said he gets 10mpg. I also get asked about my extra lighting at night, how comfortable it is to ride, my road pegs, and how often/how much mileage I ride.

last friday night as a matter of fact at wally world too. how many miles does it get! young boy maybe 17. told him not to get one like mine if all he was looking for was some extra miles per gallon. (was riding the majesty) would take him for ever to break even over a small car like he was driving. Then he mentioned his buddy got a scooter for $100 and drives it all over. told him one like that would not take long to pay off on gas savings. get it a lot at gas stations too. need a big decal for each side that says 125 mpg.!!!!!!!

Helllllo!!i ride a morphous,,do i still need to answer that question??LOL,,in my case,people don't ask any questions,,they just make nice comments, "music to my ears" type of comments. haaaaay, always makes my day!!

..when i open the back trunk,turn on the radio ,oh man, they really are in awe !! sometimes i let them seat on the morph. (but not ride it) just to let them feel how comfortable and low the scoot it. i do this on seniors,(like 80+yo) use to be riders.,, and i put smile on their faces.,makes me happy too. , awwwww!!!

we need to be nice to Luke. Granted, he does ride that Morph but he is kind to old ladies so there's some hope for him. LOL guys!

Well, I guess I'll ring in here on this one since I am also getting ask about my Roketa scoot all the time, usually the first thing someone says is something like "hey that moped is pretty cool I like it" ( I then inform them that actually it isnt a moped, being that MOPED stands for MO-tor Ped-als BIKE ) and then it's "where did you get it?" and then it's "If you dont mind me asking....how much does something like that cost?" and then we normally get to the BIG questions like how fast will it go? and Does it do good on gas, then when I tell them the MPG they are like WOW...that's what I need for running around on, so I tell them where I got mine.

there are only maybe 3-4 scooter running around in my little town of 20,000 population so not very many people around here are familiar with them, there was aguy here in town that was selling the Velocity 50cc scooters for a while but he only sold about 2 or 3 of them they were the 21th model scooters and he was selling them for $3,000 each and people actually bought them.......I know of one man that bought 2 from him, this blows me away being that they can be bought all day long for around $600 bucks, that guy was making a killing off those scoots...! that may be why people around here dont have any, maybe they think that they cost $3000.

Anyway most of the questions I get are good ones but I never tell what I pay for anything so I just jokingly say " Well, If I tell you that I would have to kill you" and they laugh and just smile and go on to another question...!

I tell people how much I paid for mine and they almost drop a deuce right there on the spot.

The reason I dont is because I have been thinking about maybe selling some of the scooters on the side to help not only myself make a small profit but also to help the people around here with a local source for cheap economical transportation but I'm not sure about it yet so I just tell them what the listed list price was on my scooter, which we all know is only there to make people think they are getting a super deal, I actually paid $499.00 + Shipping of $239.00 for my Roketa MC-74-150K but they showed a list price of $1995.95 so I just always say that my scooter had a list price of $1995.95, and almost always they will say WOW that is a good price for something like that......so it seems to me that there may be a little money to be made here and even with a mark up of about $200-$250 above cost they would still be getting a heck of a deal and I would get a little something for my trouble as well, so this is for sure something I am considering.

Well I get asked all the time how fast about 70mph+ and how much? 1699.99$ and there Jaw drops, then they almost have a heart attack when I tell them about 70mpg! have even had Harley Riders interested! Then I got to show them the radio and mp3 player, the storage trunk if there interested I tell them right were to go to a local dealer where I got mine! Its a Roketa Bali 250cc, Blue and I love it just got a GPS and man my speedo was off dont understand? I follow my brother riding on his Suzuki Bandit 600cc and he will do 55mph ,even another friend riding and my speedo was reading 61-62mph about 6-7mph fast but when I got GPS a TOMTOM, when I was doing 60mph the GPS said 50mph more like 10mph off unless GPS isnt right? it was in car and close, about 1mph off then its speedo but I know I can hit 80mph so at least 70+ on GPS!

Today, I rode over to the tax collectors to pay my property taxes. As I was getting off the scoot, the parked by me asked "Is that like a Vespa?". I explained that the concept was the same and proceeded to explain why the Xpeed was so different than your basic Vespa.

Nope, they sure don't. I get a lot of stares and then they keep their distance, that's fine by me, I don't want to hear the stupid crap anyhow.
