Beyond a doubt the best experience I had on purchasing a scooter online. I knew which model scooter I wanted which was the Roketa 250 cc 54B model and did a search. Well many vendors came up and I checked a few out then I found Superior Powersports and gave them a call. I spoke with a young lady called Sandy and she was friendly, not pushy and answered all of my questions. They offer a free PDI which isn't a full PDI but they did assemble the scooter except for the trunk, mirrors and windshield. Sandy said it would ship within a week and it did and since I live on the east coast it arrived about 5 days via FedEx. There was no damage to the box, but the driver still allowed me to open it just to make sure. The great part of all this was it came with all the paper work to register it. Title in my name along with bill of sale. It took me a few hours after paying property tax and going to the DMV to get it registered. 5 days later I had my new title mailed to me. I did call Sandy a few times to check on my order and she stopped what she was doing and went back to their warehouse to check. Customer service was great. I don't work for them, but I sure do recommend them to anyone looking for a scooter. Their url is SUPERIORPOWERSPORTS.COM[/b] Speedracer

Thanks Speedracer, it's always nice to run into another good internet dealer and get a reference from one of our own. Rich

Bashan, it really all went well with them. For Superior Powersports to use FedEx was impressive to me as they work with each customer when it's time for delivery.
We all worry whether or not we'll ever get the right paperwork from the dealer, but again all if it came with the scooter making it so easy to get insurance and registered.

... to use FedEx was impressive to me as they work with each customer ... Funny story, entirely off topic, unless you consider FED EX as part of the topic... Last summer I ordered two scoots from Zongshen in Miami. Quoted price plus shipping. So far so good. Truck arrives following week and it's FED EX LTL. Didn't even know FED EX was in the LTL business. Flash forward 6 months... I get a phone call from FED EX asking for payment of $150. I ask what $150. They said that back during the summer they delivered two scooters and they came out twice to deliver but we weren't there so " It's their policy " to bill the consignee a $75 redelivery charge, times two, so they wanted $150. I said it was " my policy not to pay bullcrap charges." Turns out they came on a Monday, when we are closed, and Wednesday after we had just closed. ( As an aside, I always tell my suppliers our hours and that we need a lift-gate) Told them to go back to the shipper, Zongshen., who told them to pound sand. Do you believe FED EX turned it over to a collection agency? They got nowhere as well. Just an interesting tidbit.

Cookies, sorry you had a bad experience with FedEx LTL. They have been shipping heavy freight for at least 4 years as my company uses them to ship to residential homes and we never had a complaint about them. They certainly called me when my package arrived at their terminal and set up a time between 11AM and 1PM for delivery. Driver called me about 30 minutes before he arrived and unloaded my scooter and rolled it into the garage. They might handle business delivery's different then to businesses.

I ordered 250-54B last week from this vendor ($1749.00 total), spoke to them yesterday and was told the scooter will be shipped this Monday! Although the proof's in the pudding, I am happy with the the people over at superiorpowersports so far. I will update this after the scooter gets here. Speedracer, I'm glad you are happy with the service and purchase. I'm not stalking but I have read almost all of your post since I'm getting the same scooter from the same place you got yours. Damn time goes by so slow when your waiting for it to pass by.

Axplayer, if they tell you the day it's going to ship that will be the day. Today you should receive a tracking number and can follow your scooter to your home. Mine came by FedEx and in one piece. You won't need to change the oil right away as they did put new oil in my scoot (you can tell by the tan color it wasn't from China). Also the plug is an NKG so you are fine with the plug which comes with it. Get your tools out and make sure everything is tight. I had no loose bolts or nuts. I did change the antifreeze and followed the Doc's instructions. You may need to burp it several times to get all the air out of the system. Change the gear oil, change out the fuel and vacuum lines and change the fuel filter. So far I have 600 miles on it and it runs great. Your title is inside the scooter. Either under the seat, in the trunk or if you received a free helmet look in the box. You will have a clean title made out to you. It was a piece of cake getting insurance and getting it registered at DMV.

CCPROF, Yes, my experience went well with Superior Powersports. So far 600 miles and not a problem with it. It's great when you can call them up and they go out of their way to make sure they give you the right information.
We will see if Axplayer is just as pleased as I was. Time will tell.

My wife's talking about a little 50 and I looked at Superior. What did they charge for shipping?

There is no such thing as Free Shipping. You are paying for it one way or the other. If its free shipping the cost is added into the scooter price.

It was a piece of cake getting insurance and getting it registered at DMV. Well there seemed to be some sort of delay. Just called them again today to make sure the scooter got shipped out this past Monday. Nope....some sort of "warehouse" delay, they said. So now they said it won't go out until tomorrow and it won't be here until Monday next week at the earliest. Bummer. So the waiting continues... Btw, thx for the short list of things I need to do once the scooter arrives. I'm gonna make sure these things get done right away. Hey how many feet of fuel and vacuum line did you need to get to replace the old ones?

Axplayer, have you spoken with Sandy at Superior Powersports? She was a big help to me and she is one that will take the time to go to the warehouse and check on an order.
I didn't know how much vacuum and fuel line to use so I went to Advance Auto and bought 10 feet of it. I think I still have 4 feet left.

She didn't explain what the problem was but in a way I don't mind the delay. At least they took the time to fix whatever the issue was and not just rush the scooter out. Plus they did say it would take two weeks....this coming Monday will be two weeks exactly. I'm stilling feeling good about going through them and hopefully I'll feel the same when the scooter arrives. Did you get 5ft of ea? Also I read the post where Jrryan helped you re-route some vac lines and I'm still confused....maybe it will clear up when I'm actually looking at the scooter but don't be surprised if I come calling for help. BTW...I'm glad that your silver-bullet is riding smooth. What type of break-in schedule did you follow or following still?

Axplayer, Two weeks is right on the money. It took 2 weeks for mine to arrive, but we always want everything today. I purchased 3/16 for the vacuum and fuel line so it was 1 ten ft piece. I took off the side plastics on both sides and dropped the bottom panel. From there you can see the pump, and fuel filter. I worked my way down from the carb with the fuel line as it seemed easier, then made the cut. Once you have it open you will see all the lines you need to change. The hassle for me was the heat and taking out all the screws and removing the plastic. You can get at the spark plug as well. I had purchased a iridium plug, so I put it in. When I removed the plug I did see it was a NGK stock plug, which is fine. It is shipped with some gas in it. So after I unpacked it I was able to start it up. Wanted to make sure it would start. You might want to order these clamps cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250666614233&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT They fit tight and you should not have any fuel leaks or vacuum leaks. Hope this helps you.
