You don't need to vacumn the fuel line. Josh at Sup. told me they inspect and clean the fuel line before they put the gas in to take it for its trial run. He also said the fuel hoses are better quality now than they used to be when chinese scooters were first imported and they got a deserved bad rep in the early part of the 2000 decade. Josh also said you can leave the oil in for the first 300 miles as it is a break in oil. but change it after that. I am going to change the crank case oil, the radiator fluid, and do a good burp on mine. Suppowsports also changes the spark plug to a US good one, and the main fuse. They really do the best PDI around.

OK folks, all is said and done now. I will tell you my experiences about Superiorpowersports.com and you can make up your own mind.
I ordered and paid for a 250cc 54B the first week of January. I asked them to hold the bike till the end of April so I would get it the first week of march. I asked them to do a really good pdi, right before they shipped it, (this was the 2nd bike I bought from them). because I am not really knowlegeable about maintanance. (since then, have learned a lot here).
The bike was delivered on March 3rd. No problem there. It was completely put together except for the windshield and mirrors. OK good so far. There were several problems. 1. the windshield was cracked when I took it out of the box (small crack, looked like it was crazy glued back together, on the outside of one of the mounting holes). I put in a full tank of 91 octane gas. The gas gauge was stuck on 1/8th a tank (2nd problem). 3rd problem, the seat was not aligned correctly and would not latch when closed. 4th and most distressful problem- It would not start. It just made a clicking sound. OK evidence of a discharged battery.5. The back tire (which I filled with air upon arrive- 30 lbs, (32 was listed as max). Well it went flat overnight.
So I took the battery out of my bike, and hooked it up to my trickle charger and charged it.
The next day, it did try to turn over but it wouldn't start. After several failed attempts, the battery went dead and all I got was a click again.
Went to walmart and paid almost 70 dollars for a new battery. I added the electrolyes and charged. OK now I have a good battery. went out to start bike with high hopes. Bike cranked, but again, would not turn over. called Josh at superiorpowersports.com. He is supposed to send me a new windshield and battery but I have yet to receive them. He told me to spray in the vents on the carb some quick start. Once again purchased it at walmart. Sprayed bike- no go. Got some quick start additive that you add to your tank- no go. He also told me to stick a hanger down the fuel line and try to jiggle the gas guage free- didn't work. I was advised by the guys on this site (scooter doc) to fill the intake tube of the carburetor (I can't remember what this site called the tube, but they posted pics so I did it right. It still wouldn't start. I called Josh again. He said he would try to find a dealer or technician in my area. I called around and found one.
Josh said that he would pay the dealer/technician to start the bike for me and that he would pay 20 dollars toward the tow. Josh talked to the dealer (nice guy named George) I talked to George also.
George charged 60 dollars to come and get the bike. OK, I would pay 40.00 out of my pocket. fine (irritated by this at superior power sports.
George did the following here in Columbus: Tire went flat overnight again, so he took it off, cleaned the rim and the tirerim, used a tire sealer wax and reseated the tire.- good, fixed. The he took off the seat, did the necessary bending here and there, and got it to latch. Good-fixed. Then he took apart the fuel line and fixed the fuel gauge.- Good fixed. Then George cleaned out a very clooged carburetor where the fuel had turned to varnish.- Bike started. He also adjusted the carburetor so it got the right fuel to O2 mix.OK now all problems fixed except for the windshield and battery that superiorpowersports is supposed to send to me.
Georges cost for all this- 250.00. which is reasonable(that is counting the tow.
Joshes reaction at superiorpowersports in California is as follows. "I did not authorize all those repairs. I was only going to pay to get the bike started and fix the rear tire."
At that point, all I wanted was my bike so I offered a deal to Josh. I offered to split the cost $125.00 each. He did agree to that. My bike works now but I have yet to receive a windshield and battery. My total cost in fixing a new bike 125 plus 70 plus 5 for additives which totals 200.00. Superiorpowersports cost for fixing only some of what should have been working to begin with: 125.00. I don't think I will ever receive the windshield or battery. At least I am not going to hold my breath waiting.
So there you have it. They did put the bike together. They did not do a pdi. If you are a mechanic and can do this stuff by yourself, go ahead and use them. You get a good bike for the cheapest price I can find on the internet. If you are depending on getting a perfect bike that starts and has had a pdi, don't count on it.

And now my experience with Superior Power Sports:
I had spoken with McAlli previously about her problems with Superior Power Sports and had made up my mind to only trust certain parts of their services. As this is my first scooter, I felt a little more comfortable having some do the bulk of the assembly for and then me just checking it over. So I placed my order and sent my payment via wire transfer. Then I waited 2 days and had no word from them about whether they received my payment or not. I finally called them and they confirmed my payment was received and they would start assembling my scooter. Another week had passed and I still had not had any updates about when my scoot would ship or what was going on. I called back and was told that they were all backed up in the warehouse, but my scooter was prepped and ready. Again, I had to wait two days before I called back because they did not give me any shipping information. When I did call back I was told that the shipping department was all backed up too. I have certain expectations when I spend as much money as I had to receive better customer service than Superior Power Sports was giving me.
When I finally did receive my shipping information, it only tracked it to the lift gate service in Georgia. I contacted the shipping company and they told me I would be contacted by the lift gate service to arrange a delivery time. Great, because I had that Friday off and could arrange it for then. I received a call on Tuesday morning from the driver telling me he was an hour away from my place and would I meet him there? That pissed me off. Luckily enough, my supervisor let me go because we were slow, but I was mad at the lack of communication.
Well the scooter arrived and in very good condition. I checked over what I could see for tightness on bolts and body panels and all seemed very well. I charged my battery, changed out the oil, tightened the fuel line screw, and added gas. My scooter started right up after a few pushes of the electric start.
Now I'm just left to dial in my carb and get the scoot running 100% for my area. I also still have to register it and will post if there are any issues with that process.
As far as Superior Power Sports goes, I'm not thrilled with working with them. I am happy about having a running scoot and in the end, that is my biggest concern. Take it as you like it.

Well, I spoke to Josh at Superior power sports today by phone. I was able to get through right away. Was on hold for less than a minute (this is good!). The windshield is on back order which is why I have not gotten it. It is expected within the next 2 weeks, so that is good news. So, if I get the windshield sent to me, that will mean that SUPOWSPorts, has honored all of its commitments. After I get the windshield, I will say that it is the best place to get a cheap scooter. (As long as you don't mind picking up a wrench to do a little bit of maintanance.)

Well you may give them a good rating but, your forgetting they sent you a scoot in very bad shape, you couldn't ride it for 3 months, then you still had to pay for items that you should not have had to pay for. NOT my idea of a good dealer at all, they did not do one single thing on the PDI that was worth $10.00. my .02 Alleyoop

Well, I finally got the windshield sent to me around June 12th. All is now working properly. I am no longer needing anything from superiorpowersports.
Will I order from them again? I don't know. I have heard a lot of bad about other internet sites, like scrappy dog. Sites that take your money and never even send the product. So from that standpoint, maybe I would order again. I did get my bike at a dirt cheap price and even though it took 3 months to get parts, at least I got them. So I can't say that they give good service, but I can say the honor their committments. oops just read another thread where scrappy dog was highly rated. Seems these sites all mess up at some point or another.

Mcalli, what "bad" have you heard about Scrapydog? I deal with them all them time and have never had a problem. Service has always been good and products as well. And Scrappydog doesn't sell scooters, just parts.

Back to Superior, I am having similar problems with a defective part. First off, they sent me a 2008 scooter without ever mentioning it was a three year old leftover. When I asked about this practice, they told me "you should have asked".That and the very poor communications got us off on a sour note. Doing my PDI, I found that the hole for the gearoil fill had been stripped. I was finally able to talk to Josh who told me to just wrap the plug with teflon tape and it would be fine. This did not sound like as acceptable remedy to me. After a couple somewhat intense phone calls with management, they agreed to replace the housing. That has been almost a month ago, Still no part. They wanted me to send the old part back first. Boy am I glad I did not do that. Like McAlli, I love my scooter, Superior, not so much! My latest problem is that the battery stopped starting the scoot. Had it checked out, bad cell. Called Superior and was informed that the battery warranty is 5 days. As I told them, they must know that they are JUNK!. Oh well, the saga continues. All I can say about Superior Powersports is BUYER BEWARE!

Hi Folks! Hope all is well with you and yours. Just want to share my current situation with SPS. I purchased a BMS 150cc scooter from them in late September. It arrived in early October and my experience was all positive.
However, much to my absolute chagrin I have misplaced the MCO; have been looking for weeks on end and am very frustrated with myself as you can imagine.
I have been calling SPS every single day for the last two weeks and since no one answers the phone I am forced to leave a message which I am happy do to. Perhaps they are busy with Christmas sales but a five minute phone call explaining what I need to do in order to get a replacement MCO is within reasonable expectations.
Is this normal customer service? I obviously NEED this document and am quite vexed with myself but more so with the lack of support from SPS.
I will leave another message today (sigh) and hope for the best...

Not trying to hijack a thread but I'd like to share my experience with Superior power sports. On July 3, I ordered a TaoTao Lancer. Not having the full amount for the bike, I placed it on layaway until August 3. I made final payment and didn't hear anything from them so I live chatted with Amy on the 11th and was told that a side panel was damaged and that they were waiting on a replacement. After having no word I again contacted Amy on the 18th and was told by the shipping dept that the bike was too damaged to ship. Ok, now what? Amy and I agreed to replace the bike with a Rocketa 23y. This bike was shipped on the 19th and arrived in good condition on the 28th. The few minor issues I've discovered so far: missing front axle nut, high beam indicator doesn't work, can't mount trunk to base as the release button doesn't function. Over all, I'm not disappointed and understand that sometimes stuff happens.
