Well, I live in Wisconsin and it is almost time to store the scooter for the winter. Quick question. I have almost a full tank of gas in my jcl 250cc. Is it best to drain the gas out if I want to store it inside for the winter? If I should not drain the gas is there something I should do to make sure that the gas and carb is still ok come spring. Also, don't want to blow up lol! Any suggestions? No garage as of now to store it outside.
Thanks
Tonya

I use gas with 10% ethanol and have never had any problems. Everything from scooters to lawnmower starts rite up in the spring. If you want to be extra sure get a product called Stable, follow the instructions on the can and you won't have any problems.

Yep - Sta-bil in the tank. I just got from buying some although I hope to have a few more weeks to ride. If it's going to be outside, remove the battery and bring it indoors.
How did you make out with your plastic?

sea foam is better than stabil. gasoline is better than ethanol. when you have alcohol in the gas it absorbs water right out of the air. it can and will gel if left for a long peroid of time. water in an aluminum carb ruins more carbs than all the other reasons combined. If it was me and I had to store anything that has a gas tank in my house I would remove every last drop of gas and that does not mean total safety as gas fumes can and will explode. (keep it away from pilot lights and all open flames) john

if you are going to store the bike for a longer period of time,i'd prefer sta-bil,cuz seafoam would eat up or somehow damage non metal parts of the fuel system in prolonged contact.. oh,and i have the same question ,......how did you "make out" with your plastic? .. ha ha ha, never mind,i don't wanna know.,too much information.LOL ;D cheers!

Hi guys,
I hope you guys don't think that I am ignoring you all. Sometimes I post and I can't find it! I hope this ones shows up. I must be doing something wrong.
Anyhoooooo, welll, not luck with the plastics. One guy offered to fix and paint it for $300 but I think I am going to hold out and see if I can find the plastics.
Thanks so much for the super great advice. I hate I have to wait so long to ride again but hey, it's Wisconsin lol!!

I don't think tonya can click on profile as the account is not active. it lists tonya as a guest. tonya might ask a mod how to get with it.

You're right. She can't see them if she logs in as Tonya. She's been registered and posting as Tyscoots.
