Well, for anyone who still cares... guess what I did tonight?
My scooter actually left my garage under its own power for the first time in a very long time. Ran like snit... bogging, idling high and wouldn't get over 35mph.... but we're making progress.
I do believe that tomorrow will include a carb cleaning and adjustment.

Well I care, it's been an epic journey. In regards to your oil flow you may want to read this thread although it's apples and oranges. I think that's a great idea bypassing the cooler to see what it does. If that doesn't get it you can always hook it back up. Rich

It was honestly a great feeling getting back in the saddle... its been about 9 months if I'm not mistaken. I was able to make a few loops around my neighborhood, even went down the street to put some fresh gas in the tank. All the while, bogging down and not getting over 35. Either a fuel or spark issue, I'm sure. The carb cleaning was unhelpful. I also seemed to be having an issue with the throttle cable sticking. After riding it around for a few minutes, the throttle would not go below 4,000 rpm. The plugging and bypassing was simply because I couldn't get replacement fittings, inexpensively. What I did to bypass it was take the two good banjo fittings I had (of the 4 total), which still had a good length of hose attached, then just spliced them together to make a loop. I figure it adds a small amount to the oil capacity, ensures the oil flows properly and will perhaps even add a little bit of cooling until such a time comes that I can replace all the banjo fittings.

Wow that was a very long thread hope you get your scooter squared away. Flordia has to be agreat place to ride year round. Sounds like your close to getting it figured out. 35 at a bog I would have to say it's carb related. What does your plug look like? That simple thing to look at can tell you how its running on the gas going to the engine.

Running Slow got totally fed up with scooters, bought a Kawi Versys, and told me he was going to throw his Matrix in a canal. That was the last I heard from him two years ago. Rich

He gave up on it. Well at least he got almost 20,000 miles out of two engines. That is pretty good in my opionion. Sounds like he got it squared away a couple of times when he was having problems. I guess he didn't want to put more money in it. I can understand that.

I went to his account and he signed in in February. looks to be an occasional lurker.
After that, I would have been tired of it too. wouldn't have thrown it off a cliff but would have felt like it.

Haha. So, why haven't I been getting notifications when people posted in my thread??
For those who were interested. The Matrix is currently in storage with little-to-no progress made since that last post.
I know haven't been around much lately (ok fine.. two years, aside from the odd lurking here and there), but I'll give you all an update on my life. I'll put a new thread up in the general forum later when I get an opportunity.
And... Rich, I was planning on a Versys, but that never happened.

Well Josh great to have you back. Maybe you can get the demon out of mothballs and drive yourself over the edge again. It would be another epic thread. I look forward to reading your update on the general board. Rich

I think photobucket changed the way they do business. I’m pretty sure that you would have to pay a lot of $$ to see the old pictures.
