Next challenge. He also brought 2 sets of air horns. I gave me one and wants the other set mounted on the scooter. I hooked up one set on my workbench and tested it with a battery. WOW I almost crap my pants! These things are really loud! If you look in the previous picture you can see the red compressor mounted under the seat. I have to make some brackets to mount the horns. Kind of a PITA but it will be fun when you hit the horn button and get HONK, HONK instead of beep, beep. Attachments:

The exhaust worked out great, that looks like it was made just for that scooter. The air horns will not only sound cool but I think they'll fill that space in nicely and add some color. Looks fantastic, you're a helluva fabricator. Rich

Rich, thank you for the kind words. I'm looking forward to getting this thing done just to see how it all turns out in the end. Not to mention the other projects I need to get done. I think today I'm going to work on my 250 conversion. We may hit 50 next weak and I don't have a scoot to ride. Friday I may be adding anouther project. Will post a picture in a few.

I know it's a Silver Eagle and all that but 17C? That thing is going to need some serious work, they need to come down on that price. That would be a killer project though, especially for somebody like you that could make some of the parts you need. You might end up fabricating engine parts!

Yea, it kills me to pay as much for a project as I can get a brand new 250 for. I did a little looking on Ebay and they seam to be bringing over 2 grand for anything needing restoration and 4+ grand for nice ones. I shouldn't need to do much fabricating on it as it looks like most parts are still available. The big thing is rust. If it has more then just surface rust I'm going to walk away.

can i see pic of u sitting on the scoot? im just wondering how the arm position would be... seems like it would be like having gorilla bars. looking great tho! i think a few feet of black plastic wire loom would go a long way towards finishing the clean look of this scoot!

I'll try getting a picture with someone sitting on it soon. Its actually about stock. The front pivot on the seat is only about 2" back from where the front of the original seat mounted and the handlebars are completely stock. Most of the wiring will be in the frame tubes. Wherever the wire has to come out I will some kind of loom. I don't really like the standard plastic stuff. I looks kind of cheap to me.

i meant for those stray cables, not the wires. may not be good to frame-route them.

That looks awesome!
Gives me some ideas for when I "steam-punk" the Midwest Cosmo I have. Of course, that gas tank is awful puny...but what the hell!
It's cool! Keep us posted!

That is very cool, one of a kind. Well how does it ride?! I think you need a bigger crankcase breather. Rich
