I'm going to try just turning on the key for 1 minute before starting, too.

I had heard to give 3 twists to the throttle, then wait a few seconds then hit the starter, but the turning the throttle would only deliver fuel if there was a pump stroke diaphragm, but there isn't one on the B.

So maybe it allows the electrics to warm up or somethine before engaging. So instead of cranking 7 times, just wait, then crank.

It has worked for me this morning and again tonight. The scooter sat from 9:30 till 7 tonight and again I turned the key to the on position and waited a min and off she went on the first try. I have no idea as to why, but it sure is less aggravating. Maybe something does warm up with the key on. If it starts tomorrow morning doing the same thing then it's 3 for 3 and that hasn't happened in months.

Well also try just turning the key on and hiting the start button without waiting a minute or two, have you tried that as well?

Speedracer, I got a couple of 100 rat holed and I'll even come and get it. Do me a favor, next time you have the plastics off, take a pic and show me witch vacuum port on the carb you used.

Wife is on a trip and she took the camera. As soon as she gets back I will take pictures of vacuum lines.

You have a bad ground to the engine. Fuel guage is probably a bad sending unit.
