Recently I was out for a ride and when I got home I noticed that the center stand was missing. I blame it on only using a cotter pin holding the rod that hold the stand connected to the bottom of the scooter. I've got the new one but again they want you to use a very small cotter pin to hold it from vibrating out during driving. What can I use to replace the pin that can be simple to mod and keep me from loosing another? I'm thinking of putting the rod in a drill press and enlarging the hold to fit a bolt and using lock-tight to keep it from working loose. Great minds are needed on this issue with good ideas.

what's a center stand? you might be able to drill it out but I would not go to big. Still might keep an eye out for wear on the bolt also. Roy

How did you loose a centre stand? If mine fell off while riding I would be in the ditch!

sprocket my roommate used the scooter to visit his sis and after he got home I went to use it and when I wanted to put the scooter on the stand it was gone. Dont ask me how it is but its gone I'll never loan it out again cause there is simply no way you'd be riding and not notice it fell off some part of it had to have touched the wheels he's a total jerk anyways and a good excuse not to let his happen again.

Well.. a lesson learned. Get it on there good with a real big cotter pin or bolt... Make certain you open the cotter pin with a pair of pliers and bend the two 'legs' in opposite direction around the shaft...

Sounds like foul play. I think someone took your center stand. It would catch the road or your tire and you couldn't miss knowing that something was wrong. You might even get thrown sideways if it caught the pavement. Don't loan your scooter to anybody. Remember you might be walking if they don't take care of your scooter.

Dorman makes better pins, better stonger material not just mild steel. If you get one that fits the hole tight they have to really be straight to get 1 back out.

When I was racing MX I used to use thin wire and wire everything up. If you can drill a small hole you can run wire through it and the stand, just in case the pin "falls" out again, the stand won't come off very easy.
