Wow. getting the mount rubber should be easy fix. fixing airbox or replacing easy fix. Finding the short for the fuse is big....... Carb not installed BIG... OUCH.........
Hope no mice made a nest inside intake.....

The previous owner said the fuse problem happened overnight with a connected battery charger. I may have my brother-in-law (an ex-aviation electrician) take a look.
A newish carb came with the scooter. I think it has been off the scooter for about a week and a half.

Since I have my carb removed and need to replace my airbox, would it benefit my scooter to install a performance intake? Do you know if the scoot runs? Before doing any mods, I would get everything up and running and see how I like it. The usual starting point for improving performance is variator weight changes which will work without having to change anything else. Changing the intake may require a carb rejet.

Cool! Looks like fun. Can I ask what you paid for it? I paid $300 for it because the previous owner claimed it would cost $300 - $400 in labor to replace the damaged wire harness. He included the new harness too. Since he said the scooter went south after connecting a charger overnight, thus melting the fuse and wire, I believe he connected the leads backwards. I'll keep this thread updated as I get things sussed.

Well, we chased the harness and all we could come up with was a melted fuse holder. The wires checkout physically and electrically. I'll connect everything back up and let ya'll know.

Afterthought: If any mounting holes are operable, here's a quick fix so that you can use the airbox while trouble shooting.and working on the carb. My airbox had a rub-hole in it. I squeezed 3M weather-stripping adhesive into the hole, just enough to close it. I let it cure overnight, then filled-in the contour and shaped it with a bandage of wax paper, which I trimmed and left-on for the duration. After I was ready, I ordered the part. ($$$ are tight here!)

First pic, connect marked left nipple to brass nipple in view on right side of pic, that is the aircut off valve.
Second marked nipple goes to fuel pump.
Second pic, capped nipples are abandoned and were not used to route coolant through carburetor, so they are not used. Disregard, they are cosmetically capped and have no function.
Bottom marked nipple is fuel drain, a coil wrapped hose attached to CVT cover with a drain screw in a housing.
Pic 3 is air cut off valve, as discussed, connect to first nipple on intake manifold.
Usually there are charcoal cannisters and fuel vapor recovery system, and a Pulsed Air Injection Reburn system all sharing these same two vacuum ports on the manifold, but what I described will operate all neccessary functions.

ce: Thanks for your helpful input. I don't mean to sound like such a newb, but I am used to working on fuel injected automobiles. I was unable to find the hose that connects to the fuel drain. Yer wearin' me out, Turtle, yer wearin' me out.
OK, that elbow is the fuel bowl vent, and it's supposed to be down and cut for a venturi to draw overflowing fuel out of the fuel bowl if the float valve fails to check the flow. It is specific in that form, so keep it on there, and pointed dow, just a piece of tube won't work.
Number 2 is the Pulsed Air Injection Reburn valve, and I think it should be connected to number 3 to draw clean air from the cannister to pulse into the exhaust to burn any fuel left over from combustion in the cylinder.
The big hose on number 3 should go to the airbox, but it looks like most of this stuff was disconnected, so maybe cap it off with plugs and stuff to keep from having air leaks.
The fuel drain may be missing, it should be bolted to the front bottom of the CVT cover.
