Hi! My Jonway seems to start radiator fan when temperature gauge goes just over 1/4. Is that ok?
Temperature gauge have never gone over 1/2 even when weather was +88'F at the shadow. Last week was that hot and the fan was like always running. Today weather was only +59'F and fan didn't need to run all the time. But I think temperature is a little too low if fan starts at 1/4.
What your temperature gauge shows when your fan starts?

Mine also comes on a bit over 1/4. You are lucky if your temp never goes above 1/2 way.....

Do you mean that there is no need to change coolant fluids? This scooter is 3 years old and I don't know is there factory coolants or not. Maybe they then are good if you say so Damin what your temp gauge says when your fan starts?

Dude, you need to change the coolant, especially if it is the factory stuff, which is a watery sky blue in color.
Open the radiator cap and start the egine after loosening the drain plug so you can spin it out with your fingers.
Let it run for 3 minutes, then open the drain. Pour a gallon of distilled water into the radiator and watch the draining fluid until it turns clear. Then pour in the new coolant until the drain shows it coming through.
Replace drain plug, fill radiator and evacuate old coolant form overflow and replace with coolant.
The trick is to not allow any air into the system, but if you're careful, it's easy, and no burping is required.

Your temp guage is reading the same as mine. Your system is running normally. You need to drain and refill the cooling system like ce says. I also use water wetter to enhance the cooling.

Water wetter. Cool stuff. I have never heard of that. Might help also with charging issue. Less cooling fan used. Hope so. I think I will do it. But it's going to be exiting since i've never done it before. Maybe I break something or air pocket somewhere...

Just pay close attention and have someone help. Run the engine til the thermostat opens and circulates the coolant and evacuate all the fluid with each exchange, but don't introduce any air at any time.
Have the water and coolant ready to go, the whole exchange takes a couple minutes and only involves about 6 or 7 liters all together
Have a big catch pan and watch the changes as the fluid drains, then seal it back up.

Hey guys. My friend is car mechanic and he told that you should never mix any red coolant with blue/green coolant. My jonway coolant looks blue/green. So if I put new blue/green coolant there can I mix there even WaterWetter which is red?
Or should I use red coolant in my cfmoto jonway?

I tend to agree with your mechanic friend. It is a good idea to flush the cooling system when using different type antifreezes. Water wetter works with all antifreeze.

It comes in one gallon containers. All you will need is just a quart. But you will have plenty if you have a leak or re drain system. I use Prestone 50/50 mix and it works great.

That new coolant with waterwetter did good for city driving. Now temperature gauge hardly goes to 1/4 when driving under 90km/h (=56mph). And when speeding full 110km/h (=68mph) its getting about 1/2.
