Question for you all. I had my JCL 250A (2007) send out for a PDI before I rode it for the first time last fall.
I looked at the gear oil, at least that is what I think it is (the fill hole next the rear wheel) at it looks like it is transmission fluid in it instead of gear oil. Would this make my scooter make strange noise once it heats up? I thought it was shaking but it is more of a grinding sort of noise.
The guy who did my PDI told me he was a Harley Davids ion mechanic so I trusted him.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks in advance
Tonya

Hi Guys & Gals!
I finally got that transmission fluid out of my scoot. Wow!! I can't be lived how much better my scooter runs. What a difference! I hope to get the oil changed tomorrow. Could not find the right socket size to change it. Is it call a socket? Well, anyhooo, lol!!
Question, my scooter idles high, which is not that easy to handle for a newbie rider but if I turn it down even a bit it shuts off. I have about 800 miles on it. Could it need a valve adjustment already? It has been runnning hard since I bought it last October I have a JCL 250A, I hope it is the scoot that is easy to adjust the valves. I will look over the forum to see.
Also, I have not done anything to my scooter, but I use to have a very hard time starting my scooter if it sat over night. It is much easier now. It hardly take any effort at all. Is this because I have been riding it more or has God answered my prayers? Maybe both hey??
Oh, and the most exciting news, I rode to work for the first time today, wow it was great. I was a bit nervous but not as nervous as I thought I'd be. The funny thing is that I was more nervous coming home. One thing that surprised me is that I don't get as many tailgaters as I thought I'd get when riding. Even though I have not be riding long, it seems like Milwaukee drivers (for the most part) are very courteous. I do think I still need to practice my turns. Darn turns!!!
Well I like to thank all of you guys and gals for your help. I hope to be in a much better situation soon so I hope to be able to donate in the very near future. I learned so much over the last several months.
I am thinking of maybe taking a small engine class in the fall.
One thing at a time hey??
Thanks All Tonya

Tonya to bad you are not on the West side of the state you could get some practice hangin out with us geocaching. We ride all over while caching on the scooters. Town and country riding. I would say the most fun we had ridding scooters though was when we ran up to door county. Last weekend was pretty fun to we put on about 250 miles we were around West bend on Sunday then Between Plover and Wisconsin Rapids on Monday.
