Check to see if oil got into the CVT, there is a VENT Tube on top of the Tranny, it may be squirting oil out if you overfilled it and is getting on your Belt and Clutch and making it slip. Alleyoop

OK I drain some of the gear oil out and looked at the belt and clutch and there is no oil anywhere. I test drove it again and still makes that growling sound and shakes but when I get over 20 mpr it stops. And something else when I'm going under 20mpr the front end shakes bad it almost fills like the front tire is come off but everything is tight. The scoot only has 300 miles on it. ANY IDEALS ANYONE

Update after driving 78 miles today I do think it is the belt sliping and that is making the scoot shake. once I get over 35mpr it smooths out. I just don't understand how they can sell us scooters like this. $ 2,000.00 is alot of money to me and I have had nothing but trouble from the start. I wish there was a way to give this one back for a different one. I think I got a lemon. The seat had a rip in it ... the windshield was bent so bad that I had to put a brace on it to hold it up... and the trunk has big deep gashes on one side from rubbing on the metal part of the crate it was shipped in and the plastic around the handlebars is cracking and falling off...... Sorry guys I'm just upset about all of this.... How I have to find out what is causing the belt or clutch to slip.

My .02 worth. First of all if it's a 54B it only takes 7oz of gear oil. Filling it to the top is way too much. Second your variator is filled with grease and with the heat you are talking about plus the heat the variator puts out could have melted that thick grease and got onto your belt. You are going to have to remove the CVT and check the belt.

I took the cover off and look at the belt and it does not look like any oil is on it ... but just in case that is the problem and I just can't see it is there anything I can wash the belt with. Also i did not see any oil inside the cover.

i cleaned all that gunk and grease outta my variator and replaced it with a very light coating of white lithium , just a dab on the rollers. I used standard bearing grease on the shafts and under the clutch. hope I didnt mess it up, i was told to clean all that crap out.

Rollers can stand a little grease. Sliders are the ones that don't require grease, but I use a dry lubricant on mine. What you did is good and should give max life and smooth operation for the rollers.

Well Guys I am started to feel a little better ... my scoot is starting to shape up so today I Printed out DR.JR ENGINE COOLANT DRAINING & ENGING BURP and change the coolant 50/50 Prestone and when I got to step 9 I went in and made an ice cold coke and cooled off 104 here today and still no rain. 2 hours later finish the job and everything works great. That was a good post. Little by little the scoot is getting into shap. Put another 63 miles on her today. Only one more thing to do adjust the carb. I though I did but after reading some more post the screw that I was turning was the drain plug. I guess that was the reason it was not making any different. I think It is running alittle lean because it backfires when I'm going down a hill and let off the gas.

Yes if it backfires when you let off the gas it is running lean. Your carb probably has the Fuel Ratio screw under the Front of the Carb which is a Pain to get to. To richen it a little turn it to your LEFT. Some have a Plastic cap on them so you take the cap off to get to the screw. THis may be what your carb looks like and where the Fuel Ratio probably is at. Alley, you and Mike are the best things since white toast and grits!! IMO, you two seem to be walking scoot dictionaries! I'm loving these forums. Harleyann1
