Cleaned the glaze off clutch plates then took the variator apart and clean all the grease out and clean the rollers weights put it all back togeather with my new belt and it runs nice and smooth at take off .... hope that will take care of that for a long time. The new belt was the same belt that came on my scoot It said Gates powerlink(r) I don't know what that R stands for that after powerlink. Anybody know?  ? |

Well I got my belt today it has the little letters on it so I did not get a real powerlink. Will try it tomorrow. @#$%^&*() ![]() [/img] Attachments:

I thought it might be but I could not find the genuine powerlink and I need one now .... all I could find was a 906-22-5 that look like a gates genuine powerlink

thats right it runs off the battery ... if you unhook the battery you have to reset the clock

Well Guys I am started to feel a little better ... my scoot is starting to shape up so today I Printed out DR.JR ENGINE COOLANT DRAINING & ENGING BURP and change the coolant 50/50 Prestone and when I got to step 9 I went in and made an ice cold coke and cooled off 104 here today and still no rain. 2 hours later finish the job and everything works great. That was a good post. Little by little the scoot is getting into shap. Put another 63 miles on her today. Only one more thing to do adjust the carb. I though I did but after reading some more post the screw that I was turning was the drain plug. I guess that was the reason it was not making any different. I think It is running alittle lean because it backfires when I'm going down a hill and let off the gas.

I took the cover off and look at the belt and it does not look like any oil is on it ... but just in case that is the problem and I just can't see it is there anything I can wash the belt with. Also i did not see any oil inside the cover.

Update after driving 78 miles today I do think it is the belt sliping and that is making the scoot shake. once I get over 35mpr it smooths out. I just don't understand how they can sell us scooters like this. $ 2,000.00 is alot of money to me and I have had nothing but trouble from the start. I wish there was a way to give this one back for a different one. I think I got a lemon. The seat had a rip in it ... the windshield was bent so bad that I had to put a brace on it to hold it up... and the trunk has big deep gashes on one side from rubbing on the metal part of the crate it was shipped in and the plastic around the handlebars is cracking and falling off...... Sorry guys I'm just upset about all of this.... How I have to find out what is causing the belt or clutch to slip.

OK I drain some of the gear oil out and looked at the belt and clutch and there is no oil anywhere. I test drove it again and still makes that growling sound and shakes but when I get over 20 mpr it stops. And something else when I'm going under 20mpr the front end shakes bad it almost fills like the front tire is come off but everything is tight. The scoot only has 300 miles on it. ANY IDEALS ANYONE

Hey guys I change my oil and my brake fluid and my gear oil and now it's making an grawing sound and shakes when I take off ..... and was wanted to know can you to much gear oil in. I read alot before I did this. On the gear oil I fill it up till it started to run out of the fill hole. It's 102 here in Texas HOT HOT HOT to HOT to be working on my scooter but i'm still out there trying.

Good News I got my CDI Box today and put it on and now I have speed ... before I could not go over 55 mpr and that was down hill. Now I got 75 on the hwy Yeaaaaaaaaaa One more scoot up and running ........... Thank Guys.

Hi Guys & Gals when I got My 250 jonway I made one short trip and into my shop I went. I had some different sizes of plexiglas I cut a peace 12 X 12 and rounded the two top corners. It's 6 in. Highter now. Then took two more peaces that were 16 long 1and1/4 wide 1/4 thick to make a brace so the windshield would not bent when you were driving at a higher speed. What I did with those 2 peace was heat one end over my cooking stove just enough to bend it to the same angle as the windshield and the bottom I cut at an angle so I could get closer to the bottom eadge of the windshield. O yes the $1.00 was for bolts and nuts. You can also buy miss cut peaces of plexiglas at Lows for $1.00 a peace. I got a peace that was 24in. by 12in. for $1.00 also. Attachments:

Hi Curiser I was reading (The BIG GUY's PDI) It was wrote in 2008 would you still recommend all the changing out of the holes and fulid that came on the scoot or has the quality change and there ok now in 2011... thanks
