Thanks Roy! Good info! I have a spare filter, it came with the new carb I ordered I am going to order the correct hose for fuel hopefully this morning. I'm looking at them now and asking some of the sellers questions about them. I know I need 1/2" on the ID ( inside diameter) and it doesn't seem that common, go figure. I'm going to TRY to hold off on replacing the gas tank w/ the whole set up until the new hose comes so I don't have to do this twice but if it doesn't come by the time I'm about to move I'll have to use the hose I have. If I don't use the hose i have its getting returned. The original guy cut and sold me the wrong one damn it Right now I'm looking at this ( I just emailed the guy on ebay to see if it is 1/2" * ID * cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3984Q2em1423Q2el2649QQitemZ330579953423QQsspagenameZSTRKQ3aMEWAXQ3aITand im also looking at this but the price is kinda killing me cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3984Q2em1423Q2el2649QQitemZ320630915784QQsspagenameZSTRKQ3aMEWAXQ3aITThere doesn't seem to be a lot on ebay for 1/2" ID on the fuel hoses. I can't imagine its that rare that someone wants to do what I'm doing on a scooter Off to go change the oil for now since its due for that.

That may have been the easiest my oil change has been for me. The only pain in the arse is trying to get the cheap crappy threads to catch as I'm screwing the fill cap up against a spring loaded enemy. LOL. Its nice out I guess I'll wash the scoot too. Do you guys think the cheaper of the two fuel lines I posted ( the first link ) would work for me? ( as long as its the right size )

It just isn't possible to have a half inch fuel line on a 50cc engine.
Try 3/16, which is less than a quarter inch. You probably already have a piece of it attached to your new carb and fuel filter, see if it fits your application.

It's half inch that I need because I am getting rid of my petcock and attaching the hose directly to the threaded nippled that comes out of my gas tank, it then goes down to a coupling that will attach to a 1/4" fuel line, to a fuel filter to an auto shut off to the carb So the reason for the bigger hose is beause I'm attaching it to a bigger attachment on the tank

LMAO Alley, ya and I have more stars than you ce! (sticks out tongue) LOL. j/k, its prob just because I post A LOT! I realized he didn't read through the novel that is this thread and thought I thought the whole hose was that wide I'm waiting on the ebay seller to get back to me on the ID size of that hose he has for sale. If my scooter was a human he would be pacing back and forth waiting like I feel I am LOL.

Yea, I cannot believe an auto parts store does not have 1/2 ID fuel hoses. If you have a NAPA or some other Parts store try them or even a Auto repair place they have those things just laying around heck you only need a short piece. Alleyoop

The best emergency fuel hose I have used is Air hose off my air compressor. It actually holds up pretty good against the gas. I had it on my old garden tractor for almost 4 years.

alley im surprised i could find 2 employees that spoke english. no nappa around here, and only 3 auto repair places on the beach. ive been to all 3 trying to ask if they work on scooters back when i first gone mine and none of the 3 have anyone there that speaks english. Thats cool Roy. I also got some 1/4" clear fuel line too so I can SEE the gas flow. After it giving me so much crap NOT flowing I want to SEE it now. LOL! Drilling the hole in the trunk for where the on/off switch is gonna be in the fuel line was WAY easier than I thought it would be. The plastic wasn't too thick and the large drill bit wasn't too cheap to to handle the job

I'm the one pacing back and forth here, smoking cigarettes, drinking coffee, trying to get some sleep and then starting all over waiting for this damn scooter to start and run.
I know you're the best mechanic on South Beach, Shannon, but we can't have you looking under any wrong rocks here, and if I'm pulling my hair going: What!? What?! I can't help it, because you're there, and we're someplace else watching helpless from a distance.
So carry on, you're doing fine, I'm gonna go move the needle up 2 clicks in my diaphragm to see if I can resolve my low end mid range bog, since I dropped my main jet in the 26mm carb from 110 to 108.
Sometimes we struggle alone.

Heh, thanks CE and true, but at least we have the amazing people on this board for help. Good luck w the needle on the diaphragm. I haven't had to do that yet but at least I know how it works How to cut a hole in the trunk of a scooter for the on/off maunal fuel switch when you don't have a " circular hole cutting drill bit "Wow Alley I probably COULD cut the whole floor out ( other than a border to set some plywood on) for easier access of stuff.... IF I wanted to drill that many holes and keep yanking w/ plyers. Maybe someday Drill holes close to eachother and start ripping w plyers After plyers ripped through it all Finished up with electrical tape to make it more smooth and look a little better too fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/307107_1818680967218_1845967276_1272319_1520614625_n.jpg [/img] It looks like a major pain but it only took about 5 minutes

HAHAHA!! no you do not need to drill 500 holes just maybe two then use something like this and WHOLA, plus you will have a nice smooth edge to boot. There are even smaller ones which is all you really need. Alleyoop www.harborfreight.com/12-inch-compass-saw-66591.html

If you have a Hardware store like an ACE they usually have a Couple of BINs full of all kinds of tools and small saws and stuff for cheap, usually 3.99 4.99 etc plus tax. You can pick one up and any other tools if you need them and save on shipping. Alleyoop

Heh. We have ACE but I am boycotting them. I ordered from them and 4 weeks later when I had to call and bug them 5x to see where my shipment was they said " oh the warehouse doesn't have it in stock so we can't send it to you " I was like and you were going to tell me when !??! Then I had to call and e-mail for 6 weeks to get my refund. Uggg never again In my book ACE is NOT the place. LOL. I'd LOVE a Lowes or Home Depot though
