I have no idea what a bung is so I can't tell you what size to use but if you can weld the screw holes shut and a nipple in that will fit a 1/4" fuel line you wont be going through the same crap I did trying to find 1/2" ID fuel line. You will have the same size fuel line all the way down which is cheap and very easy to find. I got some clear 1/4" fuel line at the auto parts store for like $3 / 2' I want to see the gas flow now I also got my on/off switch there for only about $3 as well Try finding the fitting that can be welded on first and when you are about to buy it have a small piece of 1/4" fuel line with you to make sure you can fit it over it, THEN go to the welding place with it and have it done. Make sure they understand the tube has to be welded on so its completely open (1/4" all the way through) I know thats prob common sense but w some people ya just don't know

Thanks. I have enough hose to fix about 10 scooters now because I needed 1" of that hose. Yes, you heard it right, ONE INCH. The hose basicly just turned into a connecter from tank nipple to coupling ( other connector) to smaller hose. Any more than 1" and it woud hit some other plastic stuff in the scooter. So I connected it all and found that it was kinda going over a little hill due to some other plastic and I wanted it to be a straight downward shot so I drilled into the plastic it was bumping over and now it should go where I need it to go w/ out any rollercoaster looking action. The hose is so stiff that is seems very hard to clamp to the nipple and also the coupling doesn't seem like it can be clamped in either so I RTV ( auto, super high temp / gas resistent / strong ) siliconed it all together. There is no silicone touching any part of the inside of the gas line or coupling, just the outside but I RTV'd the hell out of it. It just has to dry for 24 hrs then I can put it all together. It all fits together fine, the silicone is to insure it stays together. I'm going to clamp a ziptie on the hose that goes over the metal coupling. I already had it set up in the scoot so I could measure all the lines and " mock " hook them up. So tomorrow at 2:30pm. I get to it together, get the faring back on, put some seafoam and gas in and test drive it. Here is a pic of the silicone job: ( thank God I had some in the house for another project I was doing, its super strong The crappy thing was I had to rip open 10 boxes (im all packed to move) to find the damn silicone Oh well. I have something to do while it dries ( lots of retaping )

If you cannot clamp it on get a piece of wire and pliers and twist the wire to tighten it up a little so it will not slip off. Tighten the wire up a little will squeeze the hose make it grab the threads on the tank outlet so it will not have a chance to come off. Alleyoop

The hose is all the way on the nipple up to the tank and it fits semi snug but not super super tight, I tried to put a clamp on, a ziptie and also some wire I had laying around but the larger hose is so dense/thick that it won't squeeze in anymore on the nipple or on the coupling ( which also fits all the way in and is semi snug but not snug enough) So that's where the silicone came in to hold the pieces in place where they need to be. I can't wait until 2:30pm tomorrow with the silicone is dry and at full strength so I can put it back together and ZOOMMMMMM 4 Days without my scooter.. I'm pulling my hair out

Well that was just a safety measure so it will not have a chance to slip off. Alleyoop

I know, trust me I wanted to clamp it too, it just didn't really do anything no matter what I tried or how tight I tried to put it on. The hose is so dense. This RTV silicone is tought stuff so I have confidence it it Awe. I just found the packaging slip for the hose I found on ebay and the seller wrote: " this was the end of the roll for the hose, thought u may be able to use the extra. " So cool. It will come in handy if I start putting manual fuel shut offs in other people's scooters

Thanks Roketafan . It says gasoline resistant on the tube but no gas will be touching it anyway. Its just on the outside of it all sealing the parts down and together

if you have to work with the clear hose again, you can take a blow dryer to it to heat it up & soften it to make it easier to work with.

Thanks Jeff. I opted for clear hose and it works pretty good for the parts that need to fit into it. They go right in when I press themin hard and if I try to yank the hose off it won't come off so its a perfect fit. I got it all back together. Went to start it. Nothing but a tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny hiss from near the bendix. So the battery is charing along w/ my power drill that has finally run out of juice. LOL. I keep going outside to make sure nobody has taken the charger. I can't wait to move ( in a week ) to a place that has a private area in the back of my place where I don't have to worry so much about things being taken.

I charged it up. It started it looked like fuel was going through the clear lines. I'm far too tired to test drive it tonight, especially on a slightly longer than usual ride so I don't keep pissing off my battery. I leared that zipties are a bitch to get off even with tiny nail clippers or scissors ( it cuts into the line a little) so for now on things I MAY need to get off in the near future I'm using the little spring clamps but zip ties on all else. I'm glad I got that huge pack of assorted zipties for $1, they come in very handy all over the house I'm surprised I never really used them that much before. I'll keep you posted.
