You can ride it and just hope it does not die on you. It will not do any damage just maybe to your feelings , ego and possibley your legs from the long walk back pushing it. Alleyoop

Oh by the way I tried putting my thumb tight over the hole where I drilled out the plug to the A/F ratio screw and it didn't change the way the scooter idled so I guess its not a matter of air leaking from there Haven't tried him out yet today but will turn the screw back 1/4 turn and see what happens. Maybe suck some hoses later ;P

The places here don't know how to do more than an oil change. If a scooter needs any repair other than that they ship it to downtown Miami ( 20 min away ) and charge u a ton so it can cover their moving of the scooter over there. $30 for an oil change here and $200 for new brakes. Uggg. No thanks, tis why I'm learning to do it all myself.

Yes, many are bandits and charge a lot for very simple things an owner can do by themselves. And a lot of them just know how to replace things and do not know how to diagnose. So yes learn how to do most of the fixing unless it requires special tools which on a scoot are not many, I can just think of two, the FLYWHEEL PULLER and the STARTER CLUTCH Wrench to take the nut off. Just about everything else just needs your basic set of Sockets but usually Metric. The best sets to get are the ones that have both in the sizes you need. Alleyoop

Have you tried using Seafoam? Just put about 1 oz. in the tank per gallon of gas. It is good for helping to keep the inside of the carb clean. Walmart carries it for around $8.00 a can.

Yes. I use seafoam (1oz) per fill up ( my tank holds about 1 gal). i didn't my first fill up because i didn't know about it. But I have for my 2nd and 3rd fill ups. Thats how new my scooter is, only 3 fill ups so far.
I drove it 5 blocks no prob today, went to cvs, drove back and it died within a block of my leaving cvs. tried to restart it, it restarted but died 1 second later. Pushed it 2blocks, let it calm down a little. tried to start again, started but died a second later. (it wont even idle now after it dies, its just done) pushed 2 more blocks and was home so it coulda been worse. cmonnnn carb in the mail! LOL
I was thinkinggggg maybe its not due to the auto choke not shutting off and it flooding. Because once I had not driven it in 24 hrs, I started it, started find, and drove it 1.5 blocks and it died on me. That would be less than 3 min, so the auto choke prob wouldn't have even had time to shut off by then. Hmmm.

Next time does die on you Take the Plug out and see what it looks like. If it is wet or Dry. I cannot remember with the saga going on, but did you test your PETCOCK to see if it is working ok. Also the Vacumm Hose from your PETCOCK you can check it and see if it is WET WITH GAS. It should be DRY NO gas should flow throught that hose. Have nothing to loose this thing is giving me a headache. But take it out and take the spark plug wrench with you and as soon as it dies take the Plug out and see if it is wet or dry.
Like you said it may not be the ENRICHER if it died on you within 3 minutes. But if the Spark plug is wet it could be FLOODING or you are looseing Juice to the Spark Plug and in that case it will be wet.
When you go riding is there a lot bumps or is it smooth streets, I am thinking maybe bad connections that loose contact. Look at the Connectors on the COIL and make sure they are on nice and tight and not loose. If loose that could make Spark Plug not get voltage to fire. Alleyoop

Im not sure what a petcock is so I know I havent checked it. The streets here have bumps but I avoid them. However the other day I went over a lot on purpose to see if it was a lose connection somewhere but the scoot stayed on fine. The coil has a tight plastic coating on it ( almost like electrical cape looking material with wires in with it ) - not something I can take off I have yet to try sucking the hoses to the canister to see if anything in them. I'll have to go for some rides around the block until it dies then walk it home a little bit to check the spark. If someone were to see me out in the street w/ a tool in hand I'd get mugged for the tool. I worry about pushing it home because I'm afraid someone is going to hold me up for the scooter. On a RUNNING scooter you can zoom AWAY from danger

On yours you should have the tank mounted petcock. Follow the fuel line back from the carb to the gas tank. At the tank, directly underneath the fuel hose should be a smaller hose. That is the vacuum line connection on the petcock. Follow it back to either a "Y" or "T" connection, or if yours doesn't have those, to the intake manifold. Disconnect the line there and check it for fuel leaking as Alley says.
You can check for proper petcock operation by disconnecting the fuel hose from the carb and placing the end into a container. Then gently suck on the vacuum hose and see if fuel flows out. removing suction from the vacuum line will stop the fuel from flowing out of the gas line. If it doesn't work that way all of the time then the petcock is bad and can overfeed gas to the carb.

I'll check it out. There is only so far I can go back on my scooter at the moment because the dealership stripped the heads on the luggage rack preventing me from taking side faring off towards the rear. Can't wait to get that stripped screw saver kit thing in. Thanks
Should I suck these hoses before the scooter is warmed up, or right after it dies? I don't want like hot fluids in my mouth. LMAO. Ya know its really hard to talk about petcocks and sucking hoses w/ out it sounding wrong ;D

As far as the petcock is concerned you can see everything you need to just by taking out the seat bucket.
