I went for a little ride around the lake yesterday. The bridge at the dam is closed so I did a turn around at the marina. There were a bunch of kids on bicycles just pulling in at the snack bar and 1 waved me down. "nice moped" he says. I told him it was a scooter not a moped because mopeds have pedals. The kid proceeds to ask me about my scoot - the usual stuff like how fast, what did it cost etc. He asked if I could do burnouts. I said I didn't think so. I proceeded to tell him about the engine - 250cc, DOHC, quad valve. When I told him it was fuel injected, he had to tell all his buddies. He couldn't believe a SCOOT was EFI.
Maybe a scooter rider in the future?

usually the first thing they ask is "how fast does it go?" I always tell them "not fast enough" Then its "where did you get it?" I say "China". I mess with them a little bit ;D and the conversation usually carries on. I meet lots of new people interested in scooters when I ride.

Around here, kids or adults, it's always how many MPG? And then they wipe their nose on their sleeve. Rich

In my case that's true. I tanked up but have ridden that much with moving/house repairs/unpacking etc.

I've experienced similar interest in my 150cc. However it's generally not the kids in town. (small town of less than 6000) It's usually older men and women, 55 and up. I guess it's because of my age. I'm 71. I do get lots of compliments from the kids, though.

try the toy or sporting goods dept at a "mart" type store like k-mart, walmart, target, cosco etc. this is a MOTOR SCOOTER forum.
