I have a 2008 Roketa MS-150-70 with about 2000 mi. I get a very little bit of oil dripping from the rear of the air filter housing. I took it apart today and wiped out the inside of the housing. There was not a lot, but should there be any? What might be the cause?

Too much pressure inside the engine.

Yes this is common... there may be a sponge that is suppose to soak up the oil.. so it may be plugged with old oil...wash with dish soap and dry well...
But if you have lots of oil then that might indicate you have overfilled the oil in the engine (it should be about 3/4 quart - 750 ml) or you have blow-by, oil passing by the rings...

Where might the sponge be located?

Then I guess there is no sponge. Maybe I could add one!

my 2007 majesty has bad rings and I get a lot of oil coming out due to blow by. I bought it used and every oil change got me more oil coming out. It has about 90 lbs of compression now. I believe the rings were full of gunk and the oil I used more than likely washed it out. no more used scooters for me unless I figure an overhaul into the price and buy real cheap. john

If your a mechanical type of person , you could put a new cylinder and piston in yourself ! It woul save $$$ in the long run. Add that there is lots of help here on this forum and online if you get yourself into trouble. will

My wife has a 2008 Bashan Racer, it has this type air filter:
When you take the top off you can see the verticle vent tubes that extend through the bottom of the airbox, there's several:
I forget which one the crankcase breather originally hooked onto but it did dribble some oil out the bottom of the airbox. There was probably SUPPOSED to be a sponge in that compartment. Of course the idea is the airbox makes a slight negative pressure and draws oil vapor out of the crankcase. I now attach the breather to one of the compartments that doesn't have a drain and wipe it out once in a while. One of the tubes on the airbox is blind halfway through and if I hook the breather to that one there's no crankcase vent. Rich
