TDC=TOP DEAD CENTER, When the Cam Sprocket holes are aligned like you have them you should be able to wiggle the ROCKERS with your fingers. They should be CLOSED and off the HIGH LOBES on the cam. Alleyoop Before you take the chain and cam off ALWAYS Mark the chain and a tooth on the cam. This way if you do not take the chain off the Sprocket on the Crank you will always get the chain and cam on the right and not OFF 1 tooth. Alleyoop Mark it like this SEE THE WHITE MARK, marks the chain and tooth.

Ok, someone had idea to take out spark plug, put a straw in it, this will tell me the tdc & then match tdc on camshaft. Good idea?

Ok, I strongly believe the timing is right, but I had battery turned on it's side, & the juice required to start is not enough, now what
Ok, it behaved differently a appeared to be attempting to start, until juice ran out quickly. Is battery repairable? Check fluids etc.

Most of these batteries are sealed...have it load tested at an automotive place...
They are not repairable...

I totally turned it sideways. Some fluids came out., water. Anyway, I opened it, put some water in, closed it back up, re-glued it, it's on charger. See if that helps. I doubt it. I want to just replace it. How do I tell type I need?

The important thing is measure the length, width and height of the battery. They are all 12 volt batteries but you can get them in different OUTPUT AMPS. Your battery should say how many amps it is on the side of it probably a 7amp battery. The size is important because your battery compartment on the scoot may not be able to take a LARGER SIZE battery. You can get batteries for them in a lot of places some are cheap batteries some are really good batteries with warranties. It depends how much you want to spend anywhere from say around $40.00 on up. If yours is a 7Amp battery if you can find a 9amp battery the same size that would be better it will have more CRANKING POWER. Just google for motorcycle batteries and find one the same size as what will fit in the battery compartment. Alleyoop www.batterystuff.com/batteries/motorcycle/sYTX7A-BS.html

Alleyoop - bringing our conversation forward into this thread as I'm not double checking my TDC alignment. I've visually checked my TDC through the spark plug hole and can see that it comes to TDC I've matched to the T mark as well as the small circle on the cam. My cam has only one small stamped circle on it unlike the one you've illustrated. I'm almost 100% sure I'm at TDC, but am pulling the valve cover over the weekend to be absolutely sure that I am correct. I don't think that I am an entire tooth out, but as I'm pulling the carb again!!!!... I might as well satisfy my doubts.
