Hard to tune...and a pain in the butt to convert the throttle...you will likely need a matching intake elbow as well and I would get a set of jets because you will probably be changing them as well
After all that it will be about the same performance as the 24mm CV carb you have now...

The latest thinking is that a 150 can only take so much gas and air through the head. A bigger carb can supply more but if it can't get through the head it doesn't help. I agree with Sprocket, unless you've spent a small fortune getting everything upgraded it would probably cause more problems than anything else. JMO, Rich

a few years ago on dawg there was a soldier that put a flat side on and after what seemed like months and months he got it running. I don't think from how he described it that it was any better, his scooter was not any faster than others that had mods, but he had spent what seemed like a thousand or more to be able to go just a little bit faster. john

Ya.. I put a UNI filter on the Lifan and spent a summer of riding messing with it... changed jet 3 or 4 times played with the needle etc... never did run well.
In the fall I put the stock air box back on and stock jets and it ran great...
Sometimes stock is good...

I would be willing to bet that most of the chinese scooters ridden in asia still are pretty much stock out side of worn out parts replaced with what ever is available. I am talking about millions and millions of gy6's. whats the old saying "it worked good till I fixed it" ?

I do not understand why a SLIDER Carb they are usually found on 50cc scoots. Also I do not understand why you want or need a bigger carb. You see my 150 Trike it is a 157QMJ motor was a 149.6ccs they come with a 24mm Carb which is more than enough for the motor. If you upgrade something like Free Flow Filter and maybe a Free Flow Exhaust you may need to just go with 2 sizes up on the main jet to match up with more Air the Free Low Filter is letting in. I had RapidRepair Bore out my case and put in a 62mm Big Bor Kit and a 60mm Stroker Crank and brought the Displacement up from 149.6ccs to 182ccs. The same 24mm carb is on there all it needed was a bigger Pilot Jet a #38 from Original #35 and a 122.5 Main Jet. And by the way a #125 main jet was TO MUCH FUEL it would cause it to POP had around 50-55mph had to order the 122.5 main jet. Ther is NOTHING wrong with the chinese carbs they are a very simple design that hasn't changed in decades and they work very good, no better than a high priced carb. High priced carbs you are paying for the name mostly and most are made in China. They all have the same passages and jets, they all function the sameo sameo.
They are really very simple in design and only a couple things can go wrong, Dirt may get into the fuel system and clog the jets and or passages and ONCE in a great while the Rubber in the ACV and or the Needle Diaphgram rip or something get tiny holes from AGE. And the replacement parts are everywhere. my .02 Alleyoop
This is the carb I have at the time I bought it the site I bought from had a special 3 of them for 120.00 bucks they each came with a spare Dighpgram complete with needle plus each came with a fuel filter to boot. I got the Special I have two brand new in thier boxes yet. So each cost me $41.00.

the big bummer with a big throat carb is low or loss of vacuum/ my oem gas pump was a lemon but the one I got from a snowmobile dealer in wisc works like crazy. I just don't want an electric one no matter how little juice it takes, when my engine stops for what ever the reason so does gas flow. john

Try a vespa carb ! They can get just as frusterating as the gy6 carbs !! They are gravity fed ! If they are oil injected more irritating to deal with . They got the d@$% carb crammed into a tight spot ontop of the engine . My 2 bits ! ;D will
