Surly someone has taken then scoot to a friendly muffler shop and asked about building a custom exhaust to fit their GY6 150cc. With a replacement muffler nearing 150 with little to speak for it except some manufacturers calling it a "performance" muffler there really is a nice bit of work on a slow day. Anyone?

I did but I took mine to a Hot Rod Builder. I had him make me a 1 1/4 pipe and a flange to fit and had him order a Supertrapp Muffler which he had to weld the support brace to fit my Trike. Alleyoop CLICK TO PLAY

Alley, it sure doesn't sound like a GY6 engine. Man it sounds more like a hot-rod car.

Yes I like the sound it sounds healthy does not sound tinney it has a nice rubble to it. Right now I have 8 Discs on the 4" outlet the more you put on the more free flow and louder it gets, the opposite of course is true, less discs quieter more restrictive. Alleyoop

And I took a 3/4" pipe coupler, bored one side with lathe and welded it to the exhaust pipe. Then you screw in a $9 briggs and stratton muffler, I did have to weld on a mount to the coupler. It works a whole lot better than stock, lighter weight, less tendancy to viberate and come apart inside and to replace you just screw on a new one. The super trap has to be the ultimate in mufflers and a bit more expensive than mine was. John
