What is the advantage of having an 11 pole stator? Just wondering.

It puts out much more voltage than a stock 6 or 8 pole. You need to have the correct voltage regulatior that can handle that heavy load from the stator assy so you don't fry your scoots electrical system. Just my 2 shekils worth ! will

No... it puts out more amperage...which means you can run more accessories like HID lights, electric fuel pump, EFI etc...
In some cases it charges the battery more dependably

Sprocket is right. It helps me to think of Volts as pressure and Amps as gallons/flow and ohms as how much resistance you have to flow in a bulb or motor etc. Volts times amps equals watts - how much power is used or generated.

My apologies. E= I times R E= Voltage I= amperage , R= Resistance . Used also in Ham Radio (Will is currently a tech licence holder)
will c.

The electromagnets in the stator spin around the stationary coils in the stator windings inducing an AC current as the positive and negative poles of the magnets pass by the stationary coils pulling on the electrons in different directions. The more stationary coils you have the more potential you have to move more electrons which equals greater energy. So in simple terms the amount of electrons passing through a point during a specific point of time equals X amount of energy. An 11 coil stator is going to have more electrons than 8 coils to move around and generate more energy. Now, that's great, but if you your rectifier/regulator is incapable of handling those extra electrons moving back and forth it will burn up and not do anybody any good. Also, the diodes are supposed to take the AC current that is merrily zipping back and forth and push it in one direction to charge the DC battery or run a DC system. If the diodes can't handle the charge or the reverse potential they fizz out in a heartbeat, It's not as simple as it seems but if I can off offer some non commercial advice........BUY TRAILTECH! They are indestructible, don't overhet, have great tech support, and do everything they are supposed to do and much much more., they might even you clean your living room Rich

Bashan . Thank you for adding an important point. Upgrading the stator without looking at the rest of system as well as the power requirements to drive it, is perhaps doing more harm than good.
It is always interesting.

All scooter electrical system must be balanced... power input and load
