This is my own view and if you don't like it , Tough s*&# !! I am fed up with the way that Obama has been treating Israel ince he came into office !! Fact : Israel is the only real true democracy the middle east has. Israelis are very diverse (I have seen this up close in person) . They elect their own govt ! Does Egypt , Syria , JOrdan Iran elect their gov't offcials ? Hell No ! We need to support Israel for who it is and what it stands for. Arabs are always whining or crying all the time about what Israel does when its very priciples are threatened and when they take action to protect it's citizens from rocket's being launched (supplied by their good buddys Iran) into Israel itself. Why is it that Israel is always forced to give up much much more than another country would have to in a simmilar situation? 6000+ for just 1 captured or for the body of 1 killed Israeli oldier Is that truely fair Get real !! We need a govt here in the USA that fully supports Israel 1000% with no hesitation, unlike what OBama keeps doing and not cast it off like a beggar, or pariah like Obama's admin keeps doing , over and over and over again !! The Bull S#$% has to stop now !!! Why is it that Israel is the only one who is willing to take Irans nuclear ambitions head on and do something about it now ? Where is the US support ? America has capabilitys much greater than Israel has, to properly deal with the Iranian nuclear bomb threat . Obama is continuing to drag his d#%^ feet on dealing with Iran. Listen carefully . If Iran gets the bomb like they are going to get if we don't do something about now , we all are in extremly serious trouble !!!! It would only be days or months till Islamic Jihad , Hezbollah and other fringe Muslim terrorist groups get it from their good buddys in Iran and use it on us and our children !! Think about it !! Is this what we want to happen ? I sure as hell don't !! Wasn't the 9-11 attacks enough of a wake up call for us ?? Apparently not if Obama keeps ignoring the warning sighns like he keeps getting !!!

I agree but the u.s. has already helped Israel allot and still continues to but i do agree about the president making lousy decisions and the Iranian threat needs to be addressed right away. Palestinians have continuously resided in Palestine since four thousand years before Christ, Their ancestors built the cities of Jerusalem, Nablus, Jericho, Beisan, Acca and Jaffa. The Hebrews arrived in the land between 1400-1200 B.C., and only maintained control over it during the lifetimes of King David and his son King Solomon – a period of about 80 years. The land then came under Greek and Roman rule, and was then conquered by Islam in the year 637 A.D. under the second Caliph, Omar. By that time, the Jews had already left Jerusalem, and Christianity was the dominant religion. The Caliph granted full security to all Christians, including personal safety, and protection of property, religion and churches. The Muslims declared Jerusalem the capital of Palestine, and the city remained under Islamic rule until the end of the Ottoman Empire in 1918, except for a brief time of Christian rule under the Crusaders. After defeating the Ottoman Empire in WW1 the Western Powers carved up the Middle East between them. The Western Powers purposefully inserted a Western-Friendly civilization there and has continued to support them unilaterally (well the US at least) in order to maintain some sort of influence on the Middle East.

Unfortunatly gentiles don't seem to see whats truely at stake here ! Iran hates Israel and all Jew's no matter where we are at !! Please also note ,the arabs had a chance for a seperate coexisting arab "Palistinian" state before Israel came into being . .They refused !! Its the truth ! Jews have never left home. There has always been a Jewish presence over the the milleniums that have come and gone. Jersualem is and always has been the capital for Israel past, present and future . This actual fact goes back over 2000+ years ( King David and Solomon ) . Question ? How would you like it if someone put a new temple either above or on your most holiest site ??

Will, quit beating around the bush and state your views! You're not Jewish are you Will? I understand your frustration buddy, this has been going on a long time and the hatred always clouds the peace process. I can sum up the American motivation for our presence in the area with one word.....oil. That's why we play both sides of the hand i.e. trying to support Israel but not appearing to do so to the Arab world. The government wants to protect access to the fossil fuels. I've always wondered Will, why don't the Israeli nuclear weapons ever come up? You'd think Iran wouldn't be so cocksure about developing just one when everybody knows Israel is bristling with them.

i agree that we should support israel, but they are not blameless here.
and oil has little to do with the birth of israel.
in the late thirties jewish refugees flooded into palestine and were welcomed and loaned land to live on and farm. they decided as a people that they were going to claim that land as there own,thereby striking the first blow in the conflict. they continue even now to antagonize by building settlements in disputed land. while the usa will never return the land to native americans, and cannot unenslave? the ancesters of african americans, our acknowledgement of the wrongs we commited, allows us in some way to move forward and beyond the hate and violence. until israel can do the same i see no path to peace. jews have always been there but israel has not. lets remember that jewish is a religious designation not a nationality, and very few religions have a country of their own.
as far as iran goes the cure may turn out worse than the disease. israel and the us may have way more nukes, but the backlash and environmental damage that would be done done make the decision to use them almost impossible.

Here is an interesting article. I have not read it all, just the very beginning paragraphs. Sure seems to be an interesting history statement. Wonder if it is true that the Palestinians by name are connected thousands of years back but the current folks claiming to be Palestinians are not really such folks at all.

Something to be considered in this discussion. Seems like the ones that cut up the middle east after WWII just drew lines on the map and had little to do with ethnic ties.

The True Identity of the So-called Palestinians

In this essay I would like to present the true origin and identity of the Arab people commonly known as "Palestinians", and the widespread myths surrounding them. This research is intended to be completely neutral and objective, based on historic and archaeological evidences as well as other documents, including Arab sources, and quoting statements by authoritative Islamic personalities.
There are some modern myths -or more exactly, lies- that we can hear everyday through the mass-media as if they were true, of course, hiding the actual truth. For example, whenever the Temple Mount or Jerusalem are mentioned, it is usually remarked that is "the third holy place for muslims", but why it is never said that is the FIRST Holy Place for Jews? It sounds like an utterly biased information!
In order to make this essay better comprehensible, it will be presented in two units:
·1) Myths and facts concerning the origin and identity of the so-called Palestinians;
·2) Myths and facts regarding Jerusalem and the Land of Israel.

I - Origin and identity of the so-called Palestinians

Palestinians are the newest of all the peoples on the face of the Earth, and began to exist in a single day by a kind of supernatural phenomenon that is unique in the whole history of mankind, as it is witnessed by Walid Shoebat, a former PLO terrorist that acknowledged the lie he was fighting for and the truth he was fighting against:

“Why is it that on June 4th 1967 I was a Jordanian and overnight I became a Palestinian?”
“We did not particularly mind Jordanian rule. The teaching of the destruction of Israel was a definite part of the curriculum, but we considered ourselves Jordanian until the Jews returned to Jerusalem. Then all of the sudden we were Palestinians - they removed the star from the Jordanian flag and all at once we had a Palestinian flag”.
“When I finally realized the lies and myths I was taught, it is my duty as a righteous person to speak out”.

This declaration by a true "Palestinian" should have some significance for a sincerely neutral observer. Indeed, there is no such a thing like a Palestinian people, or a Palestinian culture, or a Palestinian language, or a Palestinian history. There has never been any Palestinian state, neither any Palestinian archaeological find nor coinage. The present-day "Palestinians" are an Arab people, with Arab culture, Arabic language and Arab history. They have their own Arab states from where they came into the Land of Israel about one century ago to contrast the Jewish immigration. That is the historical truth. They were Jordanians (another recent British invention, as there has never been any people known as "Jordanians"), and after the Six-Day War in which Israel utterly defeated the coalition of nine Arab states and took legitimate possession of Judea and Samaria, the Arab dwellers in those regions underwent a kind of anthropological miracle and discovered that they were Palestinians - something they did not know the day before. Of course, these people having a new identity had to build themselves a history, namely, had to steal some others' history, and the only way that the victims of the theft would not complain is if those victims do no longer exist. Therefore, the Palestinian leaders claimed two contradictory lineages from ancient peoples that inhabited in the Land of Israel: the Canaanites and the Philistines. Let us consider both of them before going on with the Palestinian issue.

For 200 years it was the Europeans that invaded and caused great problems for natives of the continent. They brought the small pox with them. They stole all the gold and trasures of the native cultures of the new world and took gold and jewels back to Europe. That was all before the US existed.

Yes the US did have some very bad events once created. But over time the US has taken many steps to correct mistakes. We can not go back so we must work for the future and I think much has been done to do that. One nice thing has been to allow the tribes to organize and create their own nations within a nation. Look to one of the best of several, and also the largest, the Navaho Nation. More still to do and I think that is happening at this moment.

The first clear use of the term Palestine to refer to that specific region we know as palestine was in the 5th century BC by herodotus.
Sometimes the borders and the names of the country don't accurately reflect the identities of all the people who live there.

What do you Know about the Navajo Nation? Anything at all? They, by their own rules did not allow alcohol on the reservation. As far as I know they still do not allow alcohol on their nation except in their new Casino, first on the Navajo nation. Special permission form their own government to allow that to happen. Nothing to do with the US government pricing or allowing. It is the Navajo decision. But obviously your anger won't allow you to understand that.

Why are some of our most dedicated military from the native American groups? Any memory of the Navajo code talkers or including a Navajo death in Iraq on day 2 or 3. I guess they are just not so angry about the past and are looking to the future.

We only know that there was no WMD in Iraq from hind sight. Many nations around the world were very concerned about the WMD and that was one of the reasons for the second invasion of Iraq. The other, and main reason was Saddam's defiance of the UN terms of surrender after the first attack. Something like 17 times the UN posted threats to Iraq, He deserved the entire force of the coalition.
