you didn't by any chance install one of those racing CDIs did you? You may have problem with you pick up coil or a short in the wiring. you may check your grounds and the CDI connector/plug make sure nothing is loose.

Might also check your stator assy . On my last Roketa I had a similar issue develope and I had to replace the stator and the attached magnetic ignition trigger switch . the swich had failed and was giving me the varried spark .
will c.

i replaced coil and cdi with oem. sketchy wiring on remote was pointing to harness but stator also makes sense. i will test that today along with chasing the harness further. thanks.

Good advice from the guys but the one thing I would add is lose the alarm! They're crap, they malfunction, and they won't keep anybody from throwing your bike in the back of a pickup.
Click image for the best type of bike alarm.
These type of alarms go off when the thief starts swearing. Get the 12 foot, you can wrap it around your wheel and then a light pole for example. I once had my bikes trussed up on a trailer with several of these while parked at a motel in Kentucky. The next morning I discovered several cuts in the plastic coating but they never got through the metal, not even close. It looked liked they also tried bolt cutters to no avail. The swearing alarm may have gone off but I was fast asleep. Rich

Check the threaded tip of the plug for flat threads if thats the kind you have. They get worn from pulling the cap off.It causes the connection to become loose and intermittent.

i removed the flywheel and stator cleaned and sanded and got spark for 2 days. when no spark returned i checked ac volts on red-black wire from stator and got 33-40 vac.i sprayed elactrical cleaner in inspection hole and got 44vac and got spark. while running i get 76 vac. probably needs stator, or am i missing something?

Most likely the pick up sensor..they can be very flakey... they cost about $12 ...worth trying first
Loose the alarm...sometimes you can take out the fuse other times it gets very complicated, and requires a bridge connection between two wires in the harness plug...
Try the fuse if it has one
