Hello Everyone, I just got a new 150cc Edge. It has about 29 miles on it. The scooter takes off fine with a very decent pickup but it will not go past 30-35 miles per hour. It seems like it tires to go faster at lower speeds if that makes any sense. When I got the scooter and started the PDI I noticed the big hose that connects to the air filter was lose. We attached that back together and I thought that would solve the problem. Well it kinda did for a day so I thought. When I first got the scooter I put regular gas in by mistake instead of the premium. I hope that did not mess anything up. Also my exhaust pipe sounds more hollow than my other scooter. I was told that was normal for this model? I was told that maybe I should change the spark plug to a NGK, but it came with an upgraded NGK anyway. I also adjusted the idle screw. Do you guys have any suggestions? I looked though some of the troubleshooting boards but just having trouble as to where to start looking first. Thanks KEV Attachments:

Probably running Lean, adjust the Fuel Ratio Mixture, Counter Clockwise to richen it given it more gas. Adjust it after it is nice and warm after 5 minutes of Idleing so the Enricher cuts off the extra fuel. You want to get the HIGHEST idle when turning the Fuel Ratio Mixture. And turn it 1/4 turns at a time and wait for about 10 seconds so the motor catchs up with the new setting. If the idle goes up repeat the procedure. When on the last 1/4 the idle does not go up or goes down then turn it the other way 1/8 of a turn and that should be the highest idle. If it is idleing to high after adjusting the Fuel Ratio Mixture then lower the idle USING the IDLE SPEED SCREW that is the screw with the spring on it on the Throttle Cable side(counter clockwise lowers the idle and clockwise raises the idle), and you do not want the rear wheel spinning at idle so lower it so the Rear Wheel DOES NOT SPIN. Hey All!
I think I solved the problem. The air hose had come off again. The champ was dis-functional and not holding the hose in place. I replaced the clamp with a new one.
I rode it today and got it to 50 mph. It had a tiny bit of hesitation but I guess I can chalk that up to it not being broken in yet, hopefully. :-)
One thing happened on the way home. My mirror (glass inside the mirror assembly flew out. I am hoping I don't have to order a whole new pair. Is it possible to just replace the actual mirror/glass?
Again thanks for your help. It is greatly appreciated. Love this board. :-)

AHA, yep running really lean to much air due to the tube coming off the air intake side. Much Much better 50mph now your flying that is what a 150 should do you may get it a little more mph once broken in. Then you can do some minor mods to get some more top end. Alleyoop

A few years ago I got an antique riva scooter. It had a crack in one of the mirrors when I got it that got worse and fell out. I must have cut up 5-6 small hand mirrors and almost had one perfect, then it cracked! Save your self the aggravation and just get a new mirror. I was trying to keep it original and ended up with a pair so close to the same it ain't funny. Put the new pair on and you will have a spare right one.

Hi Again,
Yes, you are right about just getting a new set. The ones on my scooter has the flashing signal in them. I was quoted a price of $50 for a new pair. Well guess I better save and just bite the bullet.
Thanks again folks!!!

All GY6 engines should run regular fuel, unless there are reasons like altitude. It is a new scooter and tight ..wait until you have a few hundred miles on it before worrying about top speed... change the oil at 100miles...750 ml of regular 10w/40
Vary your speeds and don't ride WOT... short trips of about 15 minutes and then let the engine cool down...
Good Luck...

Since you are having loose things maby you should re do your post delivery inspection. When I did mine the grease in the rear was green slime and the engine oil was ugh too. I agree with Sprocket on break in, I used the ride it and cool down for my 150 and it runs great. Final thing was 150 valves tightened up too much at 400 Km/Miles , so be ready to adjust soon.
