If you are burning oil and it won't run with the valve cover off... then you need to do a compression check and hold the
pressure and see if it drops..I suspect either there is a piston ring missing or they are not aligned correctly. I bet your compression is under 120 psi and it drops in 10 seconds to 70 psi..and then to below 30 ...

The rings should have seated by now...you have blow-by, or perhaps a cracked or poorly cast piston, head etc.

Something is definitley wrong he is burning HALF a quart in 25-30 miles!! crap it shouldn't burn that much in 2000 miles.

Woah! there is major defect somewhere...it has to be pumping oil into the cylinder...valve stem seals, maybe? There just isn't much of a way to get that amount of oil into the cylinder..it has to come down from the head, or up from the sump...

I'm going to try removing the emissions. It's the wrong color it should be black smoke. It's white. I'm going to put the valve cover that came with it back on. Get an egr blocking plate. If that corrects all this fine. If not, then I'll tear the engine apart

Ok took emissions off, it didn't help, I'm done. It runs like crap. I'm done. I've wasted so much money. This is a piece of crap. It had never run well. It's a Lemon, the engine is poorly made. I'll save my money. Wait, but something with a long warranty, with people that will work on it. I'm putting it out for recycling. The old engine too. Piece of crap.

White smoke in an air cooled engine means burning crankcase oil...

Most odometers are in kilometers...not miles... you may want to do a measured mile...

I have recently seen bikes coming through with a pinched EGR tube, not part of the PAIR system, but the crankcase vent tube. this causes pressure that blows the valve seals and then they blow smoke.
