fixing up used scooter, its a roketta mc-04 2010/11 i think. only has 400 miles on it. needed new head as one of the exhaust post broke off.
all that is done and working fine, but we have gone through 2 CVT belts now, first two were cheap, but now i have a GATE 842-20-30 on there, and we also replaced the entire variator and rollers assembly. Gates belt feels solid, and now we felt it was ready to run, but once back in the warehouse we smelled rubber, pulled off the transmition cover check for rubbing or wear and found none. So we only have one piece left to check and the clutch should be fine with only 400 some miles, pulled off the bell cover with impact and the clutch is stuck. CAN NOT PULL IT OFF, don't know why or how but its on there.
any suggestions on pulling it off? or what would cause it to get stuck?? 2 shredded belts we cleaned up real well behind them, but could some of it be holding the clutch to the bearing? or shaft....
the odd thing is the clutch feels smooth turns like it should, the rear tire feels like something is binding it, but we know it needs new drum brakes which we just haven't installed.

If you mean off the Shaft, same way you did the Variator, use an IMPACT WRENCH it is also same as the Variator Left loosen the nut. Alleyoop

The next time some one needs to repair a head instead of replacing try the way a machinist does....remove all the steel parts and to get the stud out use alum to dissolve it. They take out small broken taps all the time that way. It won't hurt aluminum but dissolves steel easily. Can also drill and use an easy out too. or both. You get alum in the grocery store its a spice, $3-4 and that beats buying a head. john
and why would a scooter with 400 miles need brakes?

heat is bad but: [fixing up used scooter, its a roketta mc-04 2010/11 i think. only has 400 miles on it. needed new head as one of the exhaust post broke off. ] could buy a clutch for what a head that could have been repaired costs.

WE CAN NOT PULL OFF THE CLUTCH... the nut is off - too 90PSI on a 3500RPM air torque to pop it, but that was sapposed to be the hardest part. Think there is something wrong with clutch, we got bell cover off no problem, so we should be able to pull off the clutch and we cant. When you change your belt is there a reset procedure for the clutch, to tell it its a new belt. Or it doesn't care one way or the other... should we use a gear puller - i am not worried about damaging the clutch or where the belt sit, My idea was to put an old belt on, tighten the variator, but keep the bell cover loose, but still on and maybe the force would budge it, we have pull and pulled at it and its not coming off. I guess we can pull the clutch apart while on bike. here are some images... 2 cheap china belts have been shredded, GATES felt good - but now we wonder if this is why the belt are being chopped up. Would any residual debris, or pieces of shredded belts causes the clutch to lock up on the shaft or bearing... Any one know a good shop in MARYLAND (near zip code 21117).... thanks,

If the nut and the clutch bell are off then the clutch/pulley assembly should rotate freely on the shaft and pull off easily, if it`s not rotating freely on the shaft then it could be why your belts are shredding. Get a three legged puller on there, might distort the pulleys but I`d hazard a guess that the bearings are a bit seized or even collapsed, so you might need a new assembly.

Did you have any luck figuring this out? I'm having the same issue with my gy6 150 clutch. I see about the 3 legged puller but there not the cheapest tool I've looked for was wondering if you have any success without it? I will replace the shafts and gears even while I'm at it. I just need it off! Thankyou!

Almost sounds like shaft bearings (inside the case, NOT the clutch). That would also explain the rear wheel issues.
