I wasn't going to post this but it worked so well again today I just had to. Probably I'm going to get "thank you Captain Obvious" but maybe this will help somebody. My Fashion and my wife's Puma 150 are really hard to start if they sit for much more than a week. I discovered that it's the float bowl drying out. The same thing happened when I trailered a couple scooters to the Dragon's Tail from all the wind. So rather than shoot starter fluid down the carb or a vent line (which doesn't work that well) I use a 2 cycle oil mixing syringe and inject about two ounces of gas down the carb vent tube. The bikes then crank up with just a couple spins of the engine. Here's a shot of doing the Fashion:

And here's the wife's Puma:
Those syringes are dirt cheap at Wal-mart and they fit right into 3/16" line. Captain Obvious

FANTASTIC TIP that is also GREAT when someone puts a new carb on or just because they took if off for maintence or whatever to prime it and not have to crank and crank to get the bowl filled up. Alleyoop

I have been thinking about adding a line or hose on both my small ones that leads to out side the body and keep it normally plugged so I can get some fuel in to the carb. My two have always been that way too. The fuel injected majesty normally starts on the first rev of the engine. I have pondered putting a primer button on, as used on a chainsaw too. When it gets warmer I am definitely going to do some thing. The antique yamaha once it gets dry just sits and sits because of that. The chinese 150 is slightly easier to start and I would rather ride either one if it is just a short trip. john

Great tip! I definitely will use that method in the spring when I fire up my scooter. Beats cranking it for a couple of minutes.
