So I decided since people always ask me what kind of roads and speeds I ride the Automoto in daily, I decided to record the whole 42 mile ride home from work yesterday. I trimmed all the red light wait times out, and cut the whole trip down to 18 minutes so people can see it riding on almost every type of road and traffic. And of course its still raining here so thats in the mix to.
I thought my ride was 38 miles each way, but yesterday clocked on my phones GPS app and its 42.6 miles, for which the Automoto's odometer clocked 41.9 for so it's pretty dang accurate, then I realized that meeting my friend for lunch down the road is another 4 miles each way so thats adding 8 miles a day. Then I realized that I ride 1.5 miles past my house to my daughters school to pick her up, and back again everyday so another 3 miles and I realized I am putting 95 miles a day total on it. Then last night I set out to hit the golds gym and realized thats 6 miles each way so another 12 before the days over, now I am up to 107 miles a day - I realized why the mileage is growing so fast and I am changing my oil everytime I turn around LOL!!!
But all this started me thinking this bike is a pretty reliable machine because I haven't had any real problems in quite sometime. I do wish they made a longer lasting belt than 5000 miles because that comes for me pretty quick but its not bad to change so I won't complain. Once it warms up I am going to split the mileage up between my motorcycle alot more during the week because I know I am killing this little 150 with 500 miles a week of riding.

Very nice, scoot handles just great on the wet pavement 3 wheels sure helps a lot. The motor sounds great and is running like a top. That Cover sure comes in handy when it is raining and got a kick out of the Windshield Wiper. Whats the top speed on them about 45 or so. Alleyoop

I love it, but I miss riding red after a few days of rain. It's been raining for almost 10 days here. And again tomorrow more rain / snow / sleet so I'll be on it again.
Top speed is about 53 on flat, 48 to 50 going up hills, 45 on really steep hills. Top speed about the same as the other 150 I have, but getting to it is alot slower on this one.

In this age of ridiculous gas prices as long as you can get to work on it speed is virtually irrelevant. I'm personally digging the mileage you're pouring on it and the 150. What 40,000 combined miles on cheap Chinese products? I want to see you join the 100,000 mile club with it.

Very nice video. motor sounds good to. I always thought those looked funny, but very practical in the rain. Your camera looks like it stayed dry to. I'd like to try to put a shell on my 3 wheelers. The wiper gave me a chuckle to. I do think you got a very practical scooter though.

Thanks Roy - honestly it is funny looking and certainly far from what I'd describe as sexy! LOL
I have my other 150 that I like alot and my motorcycle, so I only brought this for commuting and functionality. It has been the most practical vehicle I've owned.

Nice vid. I was wondering what kind of camera setup you used. I noticed that the picture was pretty much straight ahead all the time. When I ride I'm always looking around and checking over my shoulders so I'm assuming it's not a helmet cam.

I don't particularly like riding in rain and never have to unless caught out in it. That scooter is made for it and I like it. For my riding that is not in rain, I detest having a windshield on a 150 as a 150 doesn't go fast enough to need one .....except in the rain,....but I love yours complete with a wiper! I believe if I was still working I would buy an automoto to go to work on. Where I used to live when I was working would have been the perfect place to ride one. john

When I am filming I do my best to keep from randomly looking around alot, but sometimes still do. I have the 89 dollar Midland XTC camera that walmart sells, it records in 720p HD and is awesome for 90 bucks. All mounts are included with that price. Can't go wrong with it.

Although I feel safer commuting on it period because people see it, notice it all the time. I've almost been hit on my other scoot in heavy traffic because didn't see it. Not sure I believe that but maybe its true to an extent. This one people say looks like a really tall skinny car until you get close to it. This made me feel better because I knew they could see it from far away as well. I didn't want the expense of a car just for the rainy and cold days. But I have grown to love this thing more than I thought possible.

Just recently made another video going through some country roads on it, in the rain of course. It never stops raining here in Atlanta anymore. Starting to feel like Seattle here

Your Automoto is a very cool trike and that windshield wiper is an ingenious add on to a slick bike. I really want to beef-up my GY6-150cc to a bit more like a 200cc, she is a great bike but I do like the idea of more speed and power. And to think...they call these machines "cheap Chinese" lol Idiots!

there are two types of "cheap" : price?or quality?..which one are you talking about phil? nice video!! Well it can't be quality Luke. 27,000 miles on a Baccio GY6 150cc and it's still perking along. Riding 500 miles a week!!! ? And to think there are people spending over $6000 OTD for a 250cc scooter from Japan or Taiwan when you can do the same thing on a Chinese scooter for a fraction of the price. No wonder Japan Inc. doesn't sell 250s here anymore. I wonder if the Burgman 400 and Majesty will disappear after the Linhai St. Moritz 400 hits the market. linhaiusa.com/scooters/400t-st-moritz.html

I am going to bet my lunch you will be able to get parts for the Linhai St. Moritz 400 in half the time it takes for a yamaha too. I fell for the hype people like luke spiel about the better value of a jap machine and I will never go that route again. Right after the war jap stuff was junk just like the first chinese machines.
Look at the 250's, japs no longer make or import a 250 scooter......might be that they feel they could not sell them to the public with the supply of chinese 250's don't ya think?
