Hey guys! Looks as if this is the place in the know about all scooter problems! First off let me tell you what I have. I just got a 2008 Peace Sports 150cc. I got it from a friend of mine who said it wouldn't run so he said if I could get it running I could borrow it. Just lost my car so its pretty important to get it going again. I did the run through fuel and spark were good so I disassembled the carb found the float needle was sticking and clogged up. I cleaned it up along with the rest of the carb and got it running. Well last night I went to go to the store and it started boggling down like it had picked up trash again. I didn't have time to clean the carb out and rode it to work today. Well I began to rain and they let me go early so I could get ho.e and work on the carb but on the way home it was pouring rain and all the sudden it just died after 3-4 lunges. It would not start back up. I got it home super cleaned the carb put it all back together and it still wont start. I think something got soaked and is keeping it from starting. Still have spark at the plug gas comes out of the the drain valve when I open it I don't know much about scooters so can anyone please help me out??? I really need to get it fixed by noon tomorrow so I can get to work. Thanks for any help!

Well if you have spark that is good and that it turns over but not fire. Check your air filter it may be soaked from the rain. Is it possible that water got in the GAS tank or is that pretty much protected from the rain. Alleyoop

Yes brand new fuel filter and the gas tank is under the seat so I highly doubt it could have gotten wet. Its a metal tank good rubber seal around the cap so I do t think so. I spoke with the owner and he said it shorted out on him once before in the rain. Could it be in the switch?

I even sprayed a shot of ether in the filter intake and still wouldn't fire! I'm at a loss!

I thought you said you had SPARK? Did you test for SPARK on the MOTOR like on the VALVE cover or motor itself? If may Spark on the frame but not the motor. If it sparks on the frame but not on the motor check the ground wire from the motor to the FRAME. If that is bad it will not spark on the motor. Alleyoop

Also check the connections on the COIL usually two wires they sometimes are loose and not make a good connection if loose tighten them onto the COIL connectors, and make sure the BOOT CAP is pushed on the PLUG and and holding good. Alleyoop

Pulled the sparkplug wire off put a screwdriver in it and turned it over it hits not real real strong but it lets ya know its there so I do have spark. Like I said I'm no scooter mechanic so I'm not sure what the coil looks like or where its located lol. Bullet to the brain! I can work on any old car or anything I'm familiar with just lost on this thing!

Have you checked the AIR FILTER it maybe full of water and soaked.
Well if the spark plug is fireing then the CDI is sending juice to the Coil.
Does it ATTEMPT TO START OR NOTHING just motor turning over?
If IT DOES not fire or attempt to fire and your getting SPARK then take the plug out after cranking and IT SHOULD BE WET from fuel if it did not fire once.
If you cranked it over and IT DID NOT FIRE and the PLUG is DRY then it is NOT SUCKING into the INTAKE. Check your Vacuum Lines and or connections to the CARB something may have come loose. Alleyoop

Very well could be Alleyoop! Didn't think a wet filter would keep it from firing! Should it fire if I remove the filter?
