Yea, we sure did have that discussion and its all CHECK THIS AND CHECK THAT(HAHA). Alleyoop Here is the check list that Ice Bear (CA) uses for their PDI 1. Assemble all fenders and parts using locktite.______ 2.Change engine oil and gear oil _____ 3. Tighten axle nuts_____ 4.Tighten brake rotor and sprocket bolts_____ 5. Tighten handle bar bolts____ 6. Tighten steering stem nuts_____ 7.Check brakes and brake lever adjustment_____ 8.Check throttle adjustment_____ 9. Check chain/belt tension and adjustment____ 10. Check tire pressure_____ 11. Charge battery____ 12.Tighten kickstand and center stand_____ 13. Check pull start and kick start_____ 14. Set idle adjustment________ 15. Check all fuel lines____ 16. Check all eletrical connections____ 17. Check all lights_____ 18. Check killswitch ______ Signature___________________________________________ Date Read more: thescooterprofessor.proboards.com/thread/2887/ice-bear-trikes-general#page=2#ixzz2fqIz3el2When Ice Bear does the PDI and Assembly, the trike is shipped on a different pallet, ready to ride, just add gas ( the battery is already installed). The only thing they don't do is, remove the air/fuel mixture screw plug and adjust the ratio. Frankly, I am surprised that I haven't seen more write ups on high altitude issues. Read more: thescooterprofessor.proboards.com/thread/2887/ice-bear-trikes-general#page=3#ixzz2fqJMJwLiI did not know that they shipped it ready to rock and roll when you pick which PDI you want. Now that is good and I understand why they cannot adjust the carb it would be illegal and they would get in a heap of trouble Read more: thescooterprofessor.proboards.com/thread/2887/ice-bear-trikes-general#page=3#ixzz2fqJVI8yASeems more than "CHECK THIS AND CHECK THAT(HAHA)." to me. But, to each their own interpretation. I have personally seen their Assm and PDI and the trike was ready to ride without issues. Not saying all cases are perfect, nor am I saying that issues do not arise, they have and Ice Bear has backed what they did and did issue a paritial refund to the customer's satisfaction.

rapidjim, what kind of mileage are your customers getting with the Ice Bear 300 trike or any 300cc trike?

Not many customers have reported back to me what they are getting for mileage. It seems to be all over the place. From 40 MPG to 60 MPG. Of course driving habits has a lot to do with mileage, the harder you push them the less your mileage. Maybe I need to contact my 300 cc customers and ask the question and report back. From what I am reading here 45 seems to be normal.

I can personally vouch for this. There were several issues with my Viking trike even though Ice Bear did the PDI. However, largely due to Jim's intervention on my behalf, all of the defective parts were replaced at no cost to me. Not even shipping.

Question you should ask yourself IF the problems encountered should they have been caught during the PDI?? I mean getting stuff replaced is another thing that is just an inconvenience and time consuming taking pictures for proof and or mailing back stuff if needed etc..
We all know JIM is a good guy and a good dealer and if you bought from him or NOT he will help out as much as he can. I am just talking about the PDI and is it worth $300.00 buckoos. And come to find out when the Scoot is delivered you have problems right off the bat. Alleyoop

If the PDI had been completed and the bike was ready to ride, then yes, it would be worth it. In my case, some items were missed, which caused me to go thru the whole bike myself, checking/tightening/adjusting as required. I relayed this to Jim, with pics, and he made it right with me. I'm not old, but I do have some physical limitations which is why I wanted the PDI. But, it forced me to learn the workings of the scoot. I have not been disappointed
Mileage: I don't keep track of my mileage, My scoot is a toy to enjoy riding. I fill it up when the gauge starts flashing then I ride some more

I used to set my speedo at fill ups and get gas at 80 miles and still ran out a few times. I sometimes got less than 40mpg but was on the HYW at 60 mph

Mike you and I have had this conversation before. I am normally 45 to 50 MPH around my town and just a tad over 40 MPG. I'm sure like any motor you can tune for power or you can tune for MPG or somewhere in between. Just depends on what you want ot live with. However I will say this if you buy a 300 Magnum scooter and expect to ride consistently on the interstate...you are going to be disappointed. That's my .02 worth.
