Blinking red light on my 150?? By automotoguy (Read 9,170 times)

I have a red light on my 150, it is shaped kind of like a phone and yes it blinks when a cell phone rings in the area. That could be it and it could be malfunctioning. My 180 riva has a low oil light I have only seen blinking once and it was low on oil.

Crazy some of the things they put on these scoots..... Old Magoo uses a rubber mallet to repair that kind of stuff

I believe it is just a service light, There was another guy with the same thing and I found what it was in one of the scoots manual But. But anyway here is the Full service Manual for it: It may be in there I remember it was just a few words about the DUMB light and nothing more. You can download it and print it out no copyright.

Because it was just flickering occasionally and about 2 minutes before power got weak it was on solid - gonna have to dig in more when I get home today. Hate it when one of my babies is sick

That could very well be.
just like your car, if the alternator goes out, the red light comes on
It was flickering, then went, and the bike died.
Looks like stator/recrifier time and maybe a new battery

When was the last time you adjusted the Valves?

Have you check to see if your Fuel Filter is clear and not clogged.

Take the top cover off the Carb and check the DIAPHGRAM and see if the rubber has rips or holes. If it is leaking it will not raise the needle out and since you have the throttle wide open it will get to much AIR and not enough fuel and run really LEAN and bog and overheat.

Take the CVT cover off and check your weights they could be hanging up also check the clutch before you put the belt back on. See if the Clutch pulley you can squeeze it and it springs back shut.

My Chuanl 150 protege has that phone shaped light also and I have periodically seen it flash on and off but only rarely. I believe the last time I saw it was last year just before I had to replace my battery. That makes me think that it may have something to do with the chargeing system now that you bring it up.

Mine does the same thing.
When you consider all the phones sending and receiving data around you while your riding it doesn't surprise me that it almost is constantly flickering.
I don't even notice it anymore.
