I recently purchased my first scooter from scootermadness.com A friend of mine purchased just before I did and reccomended them. Said it was shipped to him promptly. Now, ordereing a scooter online can be a hasstle, I understand that. You get it shipped in a crate and you never have any real contact with the seller/dealer.
I decided to use them as well, a random google search showed decent customer service and I figured I'd get mine delivered quickly as well. Which I did. I had it delivered within a week of ordering it online.
Problem, I must have clicked "add 1 quart of oil" which cost me $18.99. I honestly didn't notice it till about the day it was being delivered while looking at my CC statment online. I figured, my mistake, I guess I bought a $3 bottle of oil for $18.99. Well, I didn't recieve the oil. GREAT! I tried contacting them them first via phone, which no-one ever answers. Next through thier "contact us" link on their site 3 times now, no response. Kinda funny, there is a little statement there:
"Please fill out the below form and we will respond within 24hrs. Customer satisfaction is our highest priority"
Has anyone used scootermadness.com? Expierinces? Ever been contacted back by them?
I'll probably have to end up calling my credit card company and filling a dispute with them but I rather not have to.

The voice of experience speaks. I bought a scooter from GS Motorworks. Fast delivery, a real warranty, I was given parts under warranty quickly no questions asked and the scooter has been a rock. Five years, 7400 miles, runs like a top.
The only problems have been me problems. Anything that was wrong I broke, over revved or overtightened. My Bashan Cub Clone has been even better. Japanese, Taiwanese and Italian bikes quake in fear in its presence. I bought that online too.

7.4K miles in five years?  !!!!! omg, NO WONDER your scooter is in tip top shape,that's slightly used...oh jiz,,and you have the nerve to brag about it??...hahaha!..i put average 5k-7k miles 8months to 1yr on my morphous. and the only part i replaced that NEEDED to be replaced are the tires and brake pads. yes i replaced the clutch but it's just me, there was no need to replace it., i re-grease the primary central sheave,again,there was no need to regrease it, but it's just me. i just wanted to disassemble it to know it's internal parts. btw i re-installed my old cvt clutch ,it runs smoother than the new one...so i made a mistake of buying the clutch..the original runs perfect. SO basically my morphous need not be fixed at all, just basic maintenance, tires,oil,gear oil,brake pads. i have a co-member at the morphous yahoo group ,her name is Susan, she has 49kmiles on her morph, no hiccups,no farts, didn't replace any major parts, hasn't even adjusted the valves.,BUT runs perfect. there's another one,her name is PurplePassion..almost same mileage 40+kmiles..same runs great... not 7.4K mles in 5years...my goodness!!!! hmmm? tell us,have you been trailering your scooter???LOL busted! |

Sorry you had that experience ator So if I got it right you didn't get the oil with your bike? That is expensive oil I bought yama lube for my scooter and it was 14 dollars a quart if that makes you feel any better. I guess its a good oil and synthetic 20 50.
Hope you at least get your scooter put together not sure if it's assembled or not. Hope you get to like it once starting to ride it. Keep us posted This is good information to know about customer service it might help someone in going another direction in buying a scooter.

Not true!I purchased my TaoTao ATM50-A1 49cc scooter from Scooter Madness.Price was $655.00 free shipping + $25.00 to ship to Florida which they promptly returned to my debit card within 2 days.The sales rep was Dimitri,very helpfull and curtious and promptly returned my calls.It arrived from Texas to Florida in 4 days.Took me 45 minutes to uncrate and assemble.Sarted right up!I followed all thier recommendations.Changed the oil to10/40,installed new irridium spark plug,changed gear oil to 80/90,changed battery to 12v/7amp,new boot for coil.I use premium gas/93 octane.After the scooter arrived I went online to register for the title.Was very asy and arrived in q week.After about three weeks started having problems.Wouldn't idle and stalled at stops.The only way to keep it running was to keep revving the throttle.Scooter Madness has awesome support! Martin helped me.He filled q claim with the manufacturer for a new carburetor and fuel pump no promblem.The carb came within a week!Ops!,they they sent the rong carb and sent two of them!No problem,emailed Martin sent out correct parts within a week.Martin answered all emails promptly.Installed new parts,cranked right up,runs awesome!My speedomitor only goes to 50mph,I bary that so I'm doing 55-60 mph easy in about 45 seconds!0-30 in under 20 seconds!Very zippy!I get 125+ miles per fill up!Currently have 500 miles and have filled up only four times.I changed the oil again at 300 miles.So contrary to your comment there is one company that is 100% legit and trustworthy,Scooter Madness!Other companies charge $200.00 for shipping,Scooter Madness charges $0 !

Actually they still suck, its been almost a month and I have not got my mco, thier customer service is crap. The support never responds and they have no clue ehat they are doing. DO NOT BUY FROM THEESE IDIOTS!! I even read a review somewhere that someone has been waiting 8 weeks, and another that never recieved it after a year!!! What a joke of a company!!

I wanted to give Scooter Madness a chance...
but..
Ordered on July 19th - -an "in stock" Scooter, paid extra processing.. it did not leave Dallas,Texas for a week... Then Road Runner beat the hell out of it.. Handle bars were sticking out of the box when it was delivered... metal cage it is in was crushed, scooter was torqued a bit all over... took a while to get straight again.
So.. today is August 26th- I still have no MCO.. Scooter Madness says TaoTao is backed up and they have not seen the MCO yet. Yes- agreed on an expensive garage ornament.. I will have had for a month in a few days and paying insurance on.
My sons friend ordered one from another dealer ( these sccoters are for them to take to college at the U of Oregon ), he got his TaoTao in 5 days from order date, MCO 4 days after that. So my Son as of now does not have a scooter.. his buddy does.
I am the bad guy for ordereing from a place that is very slow with MCO etc.. and yes.. they take 3 days sometimes to reply to emails.
Thanks for the idea to contact TaoTao, I will give them a call on Monday-- a month or more is a crazy wait for MCO and if this is a known problem why isn't Scooter Madness being honest at the beginning instead of a month later?

Hi Scooter Madness-
I ordered mine from you on July 19th, got it on July 31st.. it is now August 30th... and I have a Scooter that was my son's birthday present to take to college.. he can't take it...
I am waiting on the MCO.. what is the issue? A month is not acceptable in any way. If TaoTao has been backed up this long, why arent you telling folks at the start of the process-? I was told 2 weeks "or so" when I ordered mine.. I am 4 weeks now from recieve date of the Scoooter-- I see other folks here on Scooter Doc with the same problem with Scooter Madness MCO's...
Please help me..
I am not a happy customer or Dad right now.

I ordered a TaoTao 150 from scootermadness.com I applied for my MCO 8/6/17 they have sent me numerous emails as to why they cannot send the MCO paperwork (taotao "messed up and sent the wrong MCO") etc etc BS they are a SCAM I will be filing a BBB complaint, FTC complaint, and suing them for selling me an unusable good their customer service if you want to call them that listed a house in Phoenix(where I live oddly) as their business address I will be traveling to this house tomorrow and will put up more information then. Do not buy from them they are a scam. End rant.
Does anyone on this board know how I can obtain MCO from taotao directly?

Did you ever go to the house in Phoenix? (Our credit card bill gives an LA address.) What happened? We also have problems with the company (which could be one person), and have gotten no satisfaction. I'll write about in detail scooterdoc.proboards.com/thread/13639/start-atm50-starts-starter-fluid later , but, basically, we have a scooter that won't start. Scooter Madness won't return phone calls nor emails. |
