I dont like the fact that my muffler angle does not follow the flow of the scooter. I have a nice performance muffler that Im considering putting on but dont want to mess with the air intake. Lets assume that it wont be lean. Will the additional flow hurt my performance or stay the same but just look better?

You may gain a tad in top end due to the exhaust now able to exit faster and louder as well. The real quiet ones are very restrictive and hold the motor back. Alleyoop

Are the performance mufflers less restrictive than the stock?

Yes, that is why they are performance mufflers. The quiet mufflers have a lot of baffles as well as small piping in them to lower the noise. Look in a performance muffler and you will most likley see something like this and it would have packing around it: Alleyoop

DEFIANTLY DO IT man! I just gutted my stock(cut everything out, and welded a piece of pipe, straight threw it)one. AND added a UNI Air filter for more intake, but, I ALSO HAD TO upgrade my main jet after doing this, and I have to run on the richest carb setting for smooth throttle all the way through, when I run LEAN, it has to much air flow and spudders after it switches to the MAIN JET... But after I upgraded everything, I get 43 flat ground, I can hit 50 on a small slope, so transmission upgrades next! (IF I DON'T JUST INVEST IN A 150cc... hahaha) HAVE FUN!!!

I am too old, I just want mine quiet. I had plenty of noise back when I had 500HP on tap in my old high school hotrod. People could hear that thing over a mile away and it had mufflers!!! Now I am deaf but the noise didn't kill my ears, -aspirin did.
