A fellow asks this question today and I thought it would be a good topic to go over.
ABILITY TO TURN OFF & ON THE ENRICHER: How about a switch to remove power from enricher? Did a three mile ride with my Rocketa 150, went in the store for 15 min. When I started up fast idle told me enricher was on. A switch to turn it off would be nice! Anyone try this? 1. First thing to understand is this: a. If power is removed from the ENRICHER it will feed EXTRA FUEL ALL THE TIME(NOT GOOD). You only want it to feed extra fuel to start a COLD engine and then shut off the EXTRA fuel in about 3-5 minutes. If left RETRACTED with no power the motor will get to much fuel run really RICH, cause bogging, sputters, hesitations and may die at IDLE.
Several ways to accomplish WHEN YOU want the ENRICHER to feed EXTRA FUEL. 1. Install a MANUAL ENRICHER, I installed one on my Trike. In the summer time a cold motor does not need extra fuel for starting. I would start it and smell fuel, to much fuel being fed by the ENRICHER.
2. Get a Off/On Toggle switch connect it to the battery then connect it to the ENRICHER. A. Turn it ON(FEEDING Voltage to the ENRICHER) and it will EXTEND and shut off the EXTRA FUEL. B. Turn it OFF(NO Voltage to the ENRICHER) and it will stay RETRACTED FEEDING EXTRA FUEL. You can set it up either way OFF to feed it extra fuel or ON to feed it extra fuel. Depends what makes sense to YOU.
I personally like the MANUAL because it is IMMEDIATE feed or not feed and you can control how much as well. Alleyoop

Why not just leave to function as it was designed to? I don't get it, Alley.

I just plugged mine off with a gasket a few days ago. I will unplug it when I get access to the connector. That 5W power savings will let me go 0.005MPH faster. Even dead cold she starts fine. It might be different if I kept it outside in 20°F weather like it was today. If I need choke to get it started I can always reach down and plug off a few holes on the airbox snout with my fingers. ;D

Why not just leave to function as it was designed to? I don't get it, Alley. I was just answering the OP because he asked how to deactivate the ENRICHER when he wants to. The OP may live in a hot place which the ENRICHER would make it run really rich at start up for at least 5 minutes until it shuts off the extra fuel. But just like me I did not like smelling the gas in the summer time when starting it up so I just put in a manual Enricher and can have it feed or not feed fuel whenever I want. I tried to bloclk mine with a gasket...didtn work On yours the ENRICHER HOLDER is part of the carb and cannot be taken off. So yes on your carb trying to fit a gasket in there to block the 3 holes is not possible. Alleyoop

My enricher made starting impossible if it did not start on the first crank. With no way to turn the enricher off I had to let the scoot sit for hours before attempting to start it again. I was able to block the enricher with a gasket. I didn't feel prewarming the enricher for several minutes before starting my scoot was practical for me. Blocking seems to be OK for me so I won't bother running a manual choke unless I feel a need to in the future. I am already confused enough with all these buttons, levers, and switches. But then I am very easily confused nowadays, it must be dementia or Alzheimer's.

Where did you get that manual choke kit from Alley? I can't seem to find anywhere in the UK that sells any form of manual choke kit for GY6 based bikes.

I don't need a choke. But I'm not sure I can just block it off either. Maybe the one Alley has is the best solution for me?

There is a well written article in the tech section all about the manual choke with sources, notes, alternatives, etc. The enricher block method is there also. Take a gander through there, lots of great info that makes this board 'special'.
I considered the manual choke but decided to see if I could get away with just blocking mine off. I know, I know, I am a thrifty/cheap Scotsman. I had a flooded scooter to deal with at the time and only a few days of good weather to ride. I had plenty of gasket material and I did not want to wait for parts to arrive.

Thanks for the answer. I was thinking about it backwards. Would have to apply 12 volts to lean out enricher as you have discribed.

Yes, it works the OPPOSITE of what you would think as a CHOKE that is why they call it a ENRICHER because that is what it does BY DEFAULT it allows extra fuel to be sucked out until voltage is fed to the ENRICHER and heats up the GEL inside and pushs out the CYLINDER to block the holes that are feeding AIR and FUEL to the motor. Same as the automatic choke on a regular vehicle carb. Heat from electricity or combustion after the engine is started pulls(turns) it off.
