After finally getting the transmission back from the repair shop it seems to be shifting OK now. Then after spending three days installing all new bolts, and push pins and rebuild the trike from the bottom up it was ready to ride. I put fuel in the carburetor so I wouldn't have to crank on the motor then what was necessary. The motor fired right up and ran for a few minutes, then started starving for fuel. OK here we go again. I removed enough stuff from the trike frame to get to the fuel tank, fuel filter, vacuum shut down valve and carburetor. I disconnected the fuel line at the fuel filter that goes from the tank to the filter. Turned the ignition key on and started the motor. (I'm using another source of fuel now so the motor will run) and guess what the fuel pump that is located in the fuel tank is bad!!!! No fuel being pumped out of the tank. I checked the electrical connections where the fuel sending unit/fuel pump is connected and I have the correct voltage. After two months still have not been able to ride the trike. Next thing on the list is to see if I can get a new fuel pump. Darn I just filled the fuel tank with fuel so will have to drain it to replace the pump. When you get a lemon, you really get a lemon. What else can go wrong. My girlfriend wants to ride her trike and has waited two months now to ride it, but not this week.

Try to keep your chin up. Hold on to that lil blue 50 for a while. Things will eventually work out.

The wires coming out of the tank is for the sending unit for the gas guage. Unless Ice Bear changed the design, the fuel pump is on frame and is a vacuum driven pump. It only pumps fuel when the motor is running and gets it vacuum source from the intake manifold. It is a vacuum pulse pump like you would find on a snowmobile.
Follow the fuel line coming out of the gas tank and it should lead to the pump.
I will double check with Ice Bear today to make sure they didn't change it.
Edit: I did check with Ice Bear and they have not added an electric pump.

Thank you Jim. I would never have thought that they used a vacuum type fuel pump. I was thinking that the fuel pump was in the tank and all being part of the fuel sending unit like most cars. I know the unit your talking about. I have the same type unit on one of my Harley Soft tail bikes, but it is a safety vacuum fuel shut of valve. That's what I was thinking that this unit was. Beth is sending me a new fuel pump and I should have it later this week. She is one fantastic employee and she has gone out of her way to get me the parts I need so I can get this trike on the road. She is really an asset to the company.

If you follow the fuel line from the top of the tank you will come to a fuel filter than follow the line and you will find the fuel pump on the left. It is a vac fuel system...

I put several thousand miles on I think was one of the first models. Magnum 300 2010, it's was a real Maintenance time taker with all the rear end problems but after a few bucks, several mods I had a blast with it. Still see it on the road sometimes... Is a great little trike for around town. Sure hope you get better mpg than mine did I took 40mpg was my best..

first the tranny is broken, then the fuel pump is bad,,,WHAT'S NEXT? ??, You are right telcotech,When you get a lemon, you really get a lemon..and to add, let me be the first one to author a quote: "every chinese scooter is a lemon" my question is: does this tranny and fuel pump passed the quality control?? or do they even made sure that it was indeed in running condition before they install it in the scooter??...every part of any vehicle should PASS quality control,,mind you!! good that you discovered that these parts were bad in your garage, what if you are doing a long trip and suddenly the scooter quit running?, and what if you are on a scooter rally then your chinese scooter decided not to run, what a big embarassment isn't it? sorry i told you that i won't comment , i just cant help it, i was already in bed but i can't sleep seems like there's somethings missing,,,i turned on the laptop again and here i am...after i hit the reply button, i can sleep better. BUT, did you notice? KZ and Jct didn't post anything in this thread, maybe they hide their heads under the dirt like an Ostrich because of embarassment, and Guilt,,they always encourage people to buy chinese scooter ,but these chinese scooties only cause nothing but trouble. i envy your patience telcotech and malevelina!! as long as people patronize these chinese scoots, .chinese will continue to manufacture unreliable scooters that will rip the consumers off!!! ...the floor is yours kz....

I haven't said anything because, like your rants, it wouldn't add anything to this thread. He's just having some minor problems and since you know nothing about scooters,or anything mechanical, (remember the 50cc SunL you failed with?) you're just talking through your hat. If he had a dealer like Jim around them this would all be fixed quickly.

Now it's time for me to add my two cents...First Luke...stop talking. You don't know anything about the trike except the bad stuff that has been written. What are you going to say after he gets it fixed and fixed properly and I'm not having anymore problems with it at all? Everyone knows you hate China bikes but hold down the nastiness to a low growl please.
As to all the Ice Bear owners and of course Jim thank you for your positive comments and help. Once she's up and running, I'll have a trike that will last me a lifetime. Larry has practically re-built it so I'll be safe and avoid these problems in the future. I'm very positive that all the bad stuff is over with now and she'll run just fine from now on. Thanks again guys.
