Yes John, that's always the best policy, you did the right thing. And thanks Jack, that does make more sense. I still would like to see some meter readings to be 100% convinced. I shouldn't get in a hurray, I didn't see the bullet connector. However, why the red in the stator pigtail? And why the yellow and pink? If the yellow isn't center tapped I would think they'd be the same color with equal voltage like two yellows. That diagram does show that the yellow doesn't split which does support that concept. All in all a bizarre setup and I guess over my pay grade. I did get the white = pink wire! Maybe.....

I appreciate all the love boys! You all amaze me with you scooter electrical knowledge. However, amidst all the talk, I have lost track of what I need to do to fix this charging problem. Did we determine that my stator is fine? IF not, how do I do that. IF it is fine, what next? How do I test the R/R? I'm getting long on charging this battery 3-4 times a day.

Hey Rich I just got lucky first on the bullet connector and remember a thread of loooooooooong ago about the 5-pin single wire bullet connector R/R on some of the old Tanks and especially the Lifan scooters, they did that crap so you'd have to buy their parts.
Also if you look at mxmatt's picture you do see what appears to be a red wire going down toward the engine which one would assume is going to the stator but I'm betting it's like a lot of Chinese harness taping jobs and they did that to make it easier to keep it together where the female/male plugs go together? I'm betting money that red wire if traced on down the harness goes to a fork in the road and heads straight to the battery and not the stator.
But from what I've read he hasn't tested the stator yellow/white wires yet for Ac output so until he does that it's still a guess what is really wrong?

You need to check acv output from the stator eith the stator unplugged at idle and at about 5000rpm . John How do I check this?

Ok unplug the square plug with the yellow white and green . Put your meter in the ac voltage setting , put one wire from. The meter to the green the other to yellow start the engine rev it to 5000rpm and hold it for 30 seconds see what voltage you get then do it again for the white .

On some models if you unplug the R/R and rev them up, if the stator is indeed putting out right you'll smoke the headlight bulbs! They will receive a good shot of un-regulated AC from the stator and go poof!

If I have spark, does that mean my stator is good?

It means your CDI is good and Coil is good and the pole that feeds the CDI is good BUT does not mean the Stator poles to the R/R are good which feed the charging system and the lighting on the scoot. If the latter is all good then your in business as they say with the stator and R/R. Alleyoop
