Back in 2009 when Scoot Dawg was still open my wife ordered a couple scooters from Green Earth Scooters. I didn't know squat about scooters and had a difficult time putting them together. I joined Scoot Dawg to get some help. JR was one of the guys that helped me out. In fact JR was about the only guy that helped. In 2010 I PM'd JR and asked him if he wanted to start a forum together. He said sure. I asked him if he wanted to lay down the boards or should I go ahead and do it. He said go ahead. That is why I'm the admin of Scooter Doc, that's it, end of story. Not because I knew anything about scooters, but because Jack Ryan said "go ahead."
Jack knew a boatload of scooter folk and he knows a boatload about scooters. Together we built Scooter Doc. We had a "falling out", as my Dad used to put it, a couple of years ago. Jack got frustrated with me pulling his chain and quit the forum. He probably lasted longer than I would have in his position. Why I acted the way I did was complex and a function of many things going on in my life. Jack receives some of the blame for what happened, he has said as much to me. But I was wrong, that's all I'm going to say.
This morning I put JR on the staff of Scooter Doc with equal status as Alleyoop. That means all the powers that can be assigned to a staff member. The admin retains some powers on a forum that simply cannot be assigned to others. Remember Jack, you said "go ahead". I told Jack I was putting him on the staff and I hoped he would return as the rightful cofounder of Scooter Doc. If he doesn't I have no way to coerce him, but on the staff he will remain. Alleyoop and TVnACman are in large part responsible for JR and me starting a dialogue after two brutal years of trying our best to hate each other. But it was Rapid Jim that finally tipped me towards acting like an adult. He said "I'm sure there were things said, and things done, in the spirit of anger that JR and Rich wished they hadn't said and wished they hadn't done." That ran through my mind every day after I read it. So many times that I finally woke up and said, "yeah, it's true."
Sometimes a guy has to suck it up and put the testosterone fueled ego aside. Sometimes a guy has to suck it up and admit he was wrong. Sometimes a guy has to suck it up and start acting like an adult. Sometimes a guy has to suck it up and ask those he has harmed and disappointed for forgiveness. Welcome back Jack, I'm saying it on the open forum, please be a part of Scooter Doc again. Thanks Rich

"I was wrong" is probably the hardest thing in the world to say, and it takes a big man to do it.

Great story of humility, Rich. My hat is off to you and JR and the other guys for pulling it back together. Job well done!

I just spoke what I felt. Been there done that. I am glad my words helped in this situation. Jim

OK folks it's time I answered on this thread. Right now I'm just glad to be home due to this miserable weather, 2" of ice and it's snowing now! I should have been a weatherman, dang people the only ones I know who don't have a clue about anything, report what they don't have a clue about and get paid for it!
My wife is a nurse and works in Little Rock which is normally a 50 minute drive down HWY 10 to her hospital. She starts at 6:30 a.m. I left in my 4 X 4 at 4 a.m. sharp and got her to work at 6:15 a.m. Wasn't me having a problem but all the idiots that either don't know how to drive or are driving something they had no business of being on the road with, cars, cops, and wreckers everywhere. I actually went through one ditch around some of the BS after telling a policeman that my wife is a nurse and she HAS to get to work. He said go for it son and old Chevy pulled through. Trouble is high today of 25F so it'll be worse tonight after glazing over because she works 12 hour shift, goes to work when it's dark get's off when it's dark.
I see no need into going over the past and what all happened, Rich and I have been having a great back and forth dialect and we've worked things out, nothing more to say. We both learned a lot and I look forward to going forth in the future as friends and doing the best we can to make this forum along with some of the others a fun place to be and a place where all look forward to being at and I can tell you he feels the same.
To the one reply that Luke made all I can say is Luke you need to let the two people you mentioned speak for themselves, if they choose not to then that's OK and that's their right. You spoke your feelings and I appreciate your comment but this thread is not a place to start some sort of why this and why that drama peeing match. Been enough of that and it's time for it to end.
All stay warm that are dealing with this bad weather and safe.

Wasn't around when it happened. Don't need to know about it now.
What I do know is that both Rich and JR (and others) are very knowledgable folk and willing to impart their acumen with a lost scooter soul like me.
